**OFFICIAL** 2013-2014 AP European History Thread

Guys i’m the owner of the doc… some lovely people deleted everything… any way to get it back?

go to revision history and restore a previous version

thank you i fixed it :)

Did we have any questions on the FR or Napoleon???

No! Lol i dont even think we had any on the WW’s

The question did not ask why The Prince was controversial, it asked what other philosophers thought of it.

I think we had a question that was somewhat related.

so bourbon or guise

For all of you who picked “sinful” on the first picture question, you’re wrong. It was a young boy consulting a priest. It was choice (A) – That describes the realist art movement. The background scene of the landscape had defined lines and perception which was characteristic of the art of early modern Europe.

huh there’s one on people used darwinism to justify:
wasn’t this imperialism?

it was which one did they NOT justify… = welfare

ahhh, thanks.
also adam smith disputed mercantilism, yes?

@forces guise is what i put. bourbon was protestant at first and then he just kinda turned hipster for the lols.
@1golfer1‌ shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. for both of them.

lol i guessed so much crap & made up so much bs on the essay.

literally started studying for both my tests today (us & euro) two nights before, and then i was like “… i’m going to fail both if i study them both. you know what. i’ll just study for one and not the other.” obviously the one i chose to pass was not euro.

literally my first frq was like three informative sentences with lots of fluff sentences in between.
the other was made up bs about the late 1900s instead of the 1800s shoot me. i think i even wrote stuff about the cold war…

and for the dbq i didn’t really know anything about the topic aside from like one thing about gorbachev so i just pretended information from the documents was outside information and called it good. except now that i think about it gorbachev wasn’t in power until like the 90s ugh.

expecting either a 2 or borderline 3. will cry if i get a 1, will cry if i get a 5 (for difft reasons ofc). will be happy?? with a 4 at this point.

Holy ■■■■. That test was so ■■■■■■■ hard. It was harder than chem, calc, and English.

@1golfer1 it was NOT a child consulting a priest. The title of the painting is “Old Man with his Grandchild”, and it was painted by Domenico Ghirlandaio. There is nothing that suggests the sinful nature of humans; rather, the artwork of the Renaissance WAS concerned with portraying a more naturalistic portrayal of subjects as can be observed by the fact that the grandfather’s nose is painted with bulbous protrusions rather than being idealized. This was influenced by the classical Greco-Roman ideas which the Renaissance desired to emulate. The Realist movement also was concerned with naturalistic depiction; however this was mostly focused in honestly portraying the socio-economic difficulties of the poor and working class, as can be seen in “The Stone Breakers” by Courbet and “Third Class Carriage” by Daumier.

@mshiddensecret‌ ugh ikr? and looking back, i changed so many answers and 90% of them were right the first time. and then when i was done everyone who took the test with me was all “LOL THAT WAS SO EASY” and “EASIER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE” and “LOL HOLY CRAP I FINISHED WITH LIKE 10-30 (depending on person) MINUTES TO SPARE” like thanks hun.

I was so unprepared for the essays; after I got done with my DBQ (which we didn’t even cover the topic in our class), I got a big case of test fatigue and I basically just bs’ed the two other essays. My first AP test, though. I know what to expect for AP US History now.

Everybody who took it at my school thought it was hard, our #1 Class rank thinks she failed it, I guessed on almost all of the multiple choice, I think I did decent on my DBQ and the FRQ that was about people moving to the cities in the 1800’s, and I think I did REALLY bad on the essay about the different monarchies in the 1600’s and 1700’s and how the increased their power. I’m hoping for a 3, I think I probably got a 2 though.

@shinchang yeah. Writing so many tests at once is so exhausting and I was suffering from illness due to so much stress. Too many things are happening at once and it really made me unprepared for this.

@mshiddensecret‌ i’m so sorry :frowning: good luck [for both of us] – lol maybe the essays before ours will be so bad our essays seem holy freaking amazing in comparison and we’ll all get 9s on all our essays.
