does anyone know the curve for this years test

You are supposed to use all 9. If you don’t, you can’t get higher than a 5/9,

DOES ANYONE HAVE THE 2012 RELEASED EXAMS? NOT JUST THE FRQ?
sorry for the caps lock; im so desperate right now

What was the time frame for the Mediterranean question?

200CE to 1000CE I THINK

Am I screwed because I only talked about Rome/Byzantium in my change and continuity essay? I really wasn’t sure if the early Islamic empires were on the Mediterranean because I suck at geography. I also just realized I spelled Mediterranean wrong throughout that entire essay lol

I’m also bothered by the fact I totally blanked on how the Japanese became open to trade through Perry and said Meiji opened them up… Whoops :/

Oh, okay. Someone told me 600 CE - 1000 CE, and that confused me b/c you guys are talking about Rome but the fall of Rome was in 476 CE. Thanks.

I’m pretty sure I’m getting a 4 or a 5. My one mistake was that I spoke about one anachronistic thing in the CCOT even though I knew it was outside the time frame. IDK what I was thinking.

The multiple choice was fairly hard in my opinion and all of the other people’s opinions at my school. A lot of people didn’t finish.

All my essays were 4 pages. I absolutely destroyed the CCOT and Comparative. Just really hoping for a 5. I probably got about a 45 on the MC and then possibly all 7+ if not 9s on all the essays, so hopefully that will carry me.

I have a lot of opinions about the essays but I will withhold them until 48 hours pass like a good boy.

BTW typeakid, I think Perry might be considered anachronistic given the time frame they mentioned and also it didn’t have anything to do with the state. I will be vague and just say that you were right to only talk about what you did talk about.

Trying to be vague to not dishonor the CollegeBoard.

tiny chat?

Hmm, MovingtoTexas?

Also on the CCOT, remember that the word “circa” was used, so perhaps the schism is acceptable.

I felt the multiple choice would’ve been a lot easier if they didn’t overload with reading comprehension questions. I release reading comprehension is important, but putting a good amount when we have 55 minutes to answer 70 questions is ridiculous.

I felt the essays were overall easy.

Urgh I am so ****ed at myself, on the CCOT I put the development of agriculture, civilizations, and religion when that was pass that time period!! I nailed the comparative, DBQ was alright, and the multiple choice was easy. Hoping for a 5, throw a miracle at me life!!

What was the time frame for the Comparative essay about Japan?

@kevin, 1750’s cuz it said mid 18th century

The Comparative time frame was from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The mid-18th century time frame you’re referring to, elyvine, is from the DBQ.

oh i got them mixed up then, but then why are people complaining about the meiji restoration and commodore perry not being relevant to the time period? that all happened from 1800-1900…

No idea. There isn’t much to talk about in Japan besides the Meiji Restoration during that time period anyway.

If anyone’s interested, the essay questions were roughly like this,

Part A

Analyze the connections between regional issues and Europe’s global struggles for power in the mid-18th century.

Part B

Analyze the cultural change and continuities as a result of political transformations in the Mediterranean region during the years 200 CE to 1000 CE.

Part C

Analyze the similarities and differences with ONE of the regions listed (China, Russia, Ottoman Empire) with Japan’s state-run economic development in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

ok thanks bon! Started to worry cause I thought I was talking in the wrong time period throughout my compare and contrast essay :s
