Here are my stats:

College GPA: 3.76
Incoming Credits: 64

hello i’m a sophomore at georgia tech (industrial engineering major) looking to transfer to michigan ann arbor for winter 2013 semester. i was just wondering how much they take into account the college you’re transferring from. nearly all transfer students seem to come from colleges a lot less prestigious than michigan, but since i’m coming from georgia tech, which probably has a slightly better engineering program than michigan, will that help my chances of getting in regardless of my gpa and everything else?

I tried posting this on the general forum and no one got back to me, so I figured I’d try it on here.
I’m currently a sophomore at Western Michigan University and I’d like to transfer to UMich for Fall 2013. I’m trying to pursue a double major in Business and English, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to meet the criteria for each major at my current school while also trying to meet transfer requirements.

How should I go about doing this? The advisors here are little to no help, and I plan to meet with at least one transfer advisor at UMich later this semester.
My goal is to transfer into the B-school, and I’ve been closely following the transfer page here: [BBA - Stephen M. Ross School of Business](Bachelor of Business Administration | Michigan Ross)
and so far, I think I’m on the right on track. I’ve also been testing my courses on the UMich Transfer Credit Equivalency page [UM Transfer Credit Equivalencies](UM Transfer Credit Equivalencies)

But there’s no way I can match the pre-reqs for Ross and for English/LSA at the same time, especially since the English curricula at UMich and at my current school are completely different. Should I just focus on meeting the requirements for Ross and worry about English later? But I also want to remain conscious of the possibility that I may end up staying at my current school where these English classes will be important.

Any advice is appreciated!

I was interested in Ross too. And then I found out that they don’t accept junior transfers.

I think you’ve been misinformed. I thought that too until I called and asked. Junior transfers are fine, but they still have to commit to three years in the program no matter how many business courses they’ve already taken.
If I transfer, I’ll maintain junior status but I’ll be a sophomore in the program.

Overall CC GPA: 3.87 / 51 credits in quarterly academic calendar (UW)
Highschool GPA: 2.92
SAT: 1940
Washington state resident
Intended major: Aerospace Engineering

My high school stats suck, but i took education seriously in CC and was able to maintain 3.87 overall gpa. My biggest concern is that I’m taking all of the prerequisite classes for aerospace engineering in my second year (current year) except the calculus series.
Here are the classes i have taken last year in order of highest priority.
-Calculus I,II,III (4.0, 4.0, 4.0) / 15 credits in quarterly academic year system
-English Composition 101, 102 (3.8, 3.8) / 10 credits
-Computer science 110 (4.0) / 5 credits (this class is prerequisite for transferable CSC class)
-Chemistry 139 (3.1) / 5 credits (prerequisite for transferable Chemistry class. Hated the instructor)
-Psychology 100 (4.0) / 5 credits (this is a transferable psychology class)
-Music 185 (4.0) / 5 credits
-Art ___ (4.0) / 5 credits
-CSC ___ (4.0) / 1 credit (Mathematica class which was required for calculus classes)

I have already applied for fall, 2013 term, two days ago.
Please chance me!!! I’m a bit nervous because i haven’t seen too many engineer transfers to u-mich.

Please chance me for U of Michigan.

Hey you guys! I’m also applying for transfer into Fall 2013 term. Chance me, anyone?

Current University: Basically one of the best IT universities in Malaysia.
HS GPA: 2.6/4.0 (I put too much weight on my own abilities, let’s just say).
College GPA: 4.0.
Credits: 30 (15 done, 15 to be completed by May).
EC’s:

I know the last one of my EC’s don’t really pertain to my major, but I thought I might as well put it in there. What do you guys think?

Also, I have a question. My university doesn’t release our first semester’s results until February 8th, and I know that we could put a cover letter explaining certain circumstances as to why my application materials would be late. But, would it count as late if I sent in everything before February 1st, except for my college transcript?

Thank you so much for your help, in advance! I hope to see you guys in the coming fall :D
