@ilikeparislol Thanks for sharing.

I did call the office today and spoke with the admissions officer on duty. She shared that they will likely be using the transfer waiting list, although however many they decide to accept is still undecided (she made that clear; it seemed that it won’t be too many) and that they will likely have some updates by the end of next week.

I guess when they say July 1st, they really mean July 1st.

Where are we actually supposed to send our letter of intent ( or whatever it is called)? I contacted my admissions person but she has not gotten back to me. As well, I am out of the country for the next two months so calling will not happen.

Same here. I tried calling my admissions officer and she’s also out of office… I asked the person who picked up the phone whether they could tell me some updated news about the waitlist and they said that was confidential and said to send an email to my admissions officer. But my admissions officer never replies to me for over two months or so…:(

@CelloDiego I sent you a message.
@Cyrano723 Ask to speak with the admissions officer on duty. I did and the woman I spoke with gave me candid, helpful information.

For those who were accepted can you please say your transfer GPA and stats?

@KingofSweden I tried calling in today and the person who received the phone wouldn’t allow me to speak with my admissions officer. He also said to ask my questions in email to my AO. I explained that my AO hasn’t replied to any of my emails over the past several months. He said tough luck. Any advice…?

@Cyrano723 Ask to speak with “the admissions officer on duty.” This is a legitimate position that must be filled during all open hours at Georgetown. It may or may not be your admissions officer. I don’t think Georgetown can refuse your call…at least, they’ve never refused my call.

So I called them yesterday and was told that students on the waiting list would not hear back until mid to late July… Anyone hear anything different?

my admissions officer told me early July and he is very high up in rank

My AO just contacted me that it is very unlikely anyone will come off the waitlist for MSB. He said essentially all spots are filled and they had positive feedback from the students who were given offers. Crappy news.

Someone heard back from School of Foreign Service?

Admissions Office gave no news on the status of the Georgetown College waiting list. Guess I’m heading to Duke! B-)

I called today looking for an update too but nothing came of it so I guess its off to UVa then. Good luck to everyone else, I hope all of you end up in a better situation for the 14-15 academic year than the ones prior. And to anyone that gets off the waitlist you should be very proud.

I was placed on the waitlist, but got a call from admissions yesterday. They had some spots open up and offered one. Point is, to everyone on the waitlist, hold on to hope. There are places at Georgetown for us waitlisters! Good luck guys! And good luck to everyone going elsewhere. Those are some damn impressive schools and everyone should be proud of their accomplishments and for going after their dreams. Hang in there, guys. Much love. :)

@CHSco13 Congratulations! What school did you apply to?

Thank you! I applied to NHS, so a little less competitive than the other schools, but it’s where my heart’s at I’m sorry I don’t have any specifics really on the waitlist or the status of any of the other schools. They didn’t really give me much info. The officer I spoke with though said spots had opened up, so plural. I was pretty much preparing for the worst, so it was really unexpected and surreal. Keep your phone by you and pick up for that 202 area code. So, they’re working on it, there’s hope. Best wishes for you guys <3

@CHSco13 do you know if they only contact you through phone??? did they send you an email notification also???

@KingofSweden
Aw… Still, you’re going to do great at Duke!
Good luck! And let me know if you do end up getting off the Georgetown waitlist!

@Cyrano723 They called me first and asked me if I was committed to Georgetown, gave me financial aid numbers, and asked me to call back the next day with my final decision. After I officially replied, I got an email with enrollment information. So while I don’t know if they only notify you through phone, it seems like conducting the correspondence via phone makes the most sense, as it allowed the officer to give more thorough explanations and answer my questions in a timely fashion. Honestly, it also kind of stressed to me that they’re really on this. They didn’t want to waste anyone’s time. The whole thing happened really fast.
