Official 2014 NYU Transfer Thread

@theyadoreyou‌ I put down Fall 2014. I emailed my admissions counselor because I noticed it said Summer 2014 ( I thought I might have done something wrong) but if you apply to film it automatically goes to Summer 2014.

Has anyone applying to Tisch/ Tisch Film heard any news about when acceptances/rejections are suppose to come out?

Also, anyone worried about not everything being checking off on Albert rest assure. I just emailed my admission counselor and he literally checked everything off right after. My guess is that they have everything, they just take there time in checking stuff off. I’d still email to make sure though.

@filmschoolgirl‌ I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m sure they’ll come out in a couple weeks or so. Is your “Portfolio - Film & Television” checked off? Everything on mine is checked off except that.

@greengecko‌ No, but on Slideroom it says after you submit that it will not be checked off in Albert (or something like that). Portfolio is never checked off.

Oh. Where does it say that?

It says it on the confirmation page:

“Please note: Receipt of your portfolio will not appear on Albert”

@filmschoolgirl Nice catch! Do you think they’ve already made decisions already for us then?

@filmschoolgirl sweet I applied as a summer transfer and started thinking I made a mistake!

@greengecko‌ I honestly believe that they have already made decisions. I think the end of this week or next week will definitely be the reply days, my friend (who applied for film) called a while ago and was told that every applicant for Tisch Film & Television would hear back before May 1.

First off please ignore the name. I am using my brothers account that he used to transfer to rutgers university. Anyway… The expected time for replies is coming up and on my Albert I don’t have my college or high school transcripts checked off which I sent them a month ago. Should I email or call admissions? I applied to arts and sciences as a history major, when do you think I will hear back? College gpa 3.6 as history major. Crappy sats and high school gpa. 30 credits competed. Both parents went to nyu, volunteer emt for 2 years.

CAS Economics applicant here.
Good luck to everyone awaiting the outcome. :)>-

This might show why I won’t get into NYU lol. I received the email telling me to create my account and such, but can not for the life of me find out how we check our application status; is this even possible?

@Transfer2Rutgers‌ I have a legacy at NYU as well! My dad was a student. Do you think that will have any bearing on my application?

@filmschoolgirl I hope you are right about knowing by May 1st!

@filmschoolgirl WOW! That definitely got my heart racing. I hope you’re right! Before May 1 would be best.

I’m almost sure because my friend is not American she had to take an english language test and won’t get the results until after May 1. She emailed NYU to tell them and they said that they will not look at her application unless they have that form and after May 1 would be to late because they’re sending the results out before May. Lets just hope they follow through with that.

@jacobi6 Once you have created your account click the academics tab, then click albert login. From there you can see what materials have been checked off, however it is not that accurate lol.

Since they probably don’t process applications on weekends we only have 4.5 days left of refreshing our email/alberts nonstop. :))

@hope2transfer12‌ It definitely does. It does not carry as much weight as it used to but if they see that your parents went there then you are more likely to go which equals more money for the school.

You know what’s really annoying? When I’m looking back at the threads from last year, it never says the Day that each post was submitted. It only says “April 2013” or “May 2013” The specific day is so important!! Is there any way to find out the day posts are submitted?
