Who here is applying as a transfer student? I tried to make one of these stats for ILR students but it wasn't successful. So all hopeful transfers post your stats or whatever. It's not really a "what are my chances" thread but rather just to see who the hopeful transfers are.

On my EC sheet I listed a lot of hobbies and self-learning adventures. Rec's: Very good Essays: These will be the key for me, I think. They are pretty good, thank goodness. Hooks: The fact that I'm 27 years old and I dropped out of highschool when I was 16 might work in my favor at Cornell (I think my essays do a pretty good job of explaining everything in an enjoyable and engaging manner).

John it sounds like you are an extremely intelligent person who has had to experience some rough hurdles in his life. If you explain everything well (which is sounds like you did) than I think they will like you a lot (because I don't even know your story yet I am pretty impressed at how you faced adversity and got such good scores and gpa and such.) GL to both of u!!!

Yeah, to say high school was hell would be an understatement. lol

Once I get a decision, I might post my essays. I've gotten really good feedback on them so far. I just hope Cornell feels the same way (and gives me good aid). :)

jason2811,

Well, if it is just you and me, then we're sure to get in. :D

How'd you know!?! Yes, I am. And I want that major so bad. My second choice is EE, but I really want EP! I hope I made a good case for acceptance into the major... I know it's the toughest.

I hold a job and work 30 Hours a week. (Apple). Came over as a refugee from the Soviet Union back in 1989, essay talks about my experience.

BTW, does anyone know if the transfer decisions all come out at the same time (like they do for freshman) or if they are rolling?

The last time I checked, I think Cornell said May is the target month, but they seemed to leave themselves wiggle-room for June decisions. I hope that won't happen, because some other schools I applied to need my decision by June 1st. :(
