<p>I just got the e-mail (I actually got two of them). I’m starting to freak out a lot now. 2 days!</p>
<p>Im so freaking scared, whereas last year we had 5 people get into Cornell and 2 people into Harvard, this year EVERYONE is getting rejected or deffered. I don’t know a single person who got into their ED school…
Idk if its a more competitive applicant pool, or if were just … not as academically… uh, smart? But either way, this makes me, the not- so - competitive applicant feel terrible about my chances.
I keep telling myself its JUST a college but reason holds no weight in the face these huge waves of panic! I really love Williams, i just wish it would love me back lol. Colleges are like an abusive relationship.</p>

<p>Lol that email is nothing compared to the torture Williams put me through this weekend. Basically I wasn’t sure exactly when we would find out, so when a large package from Williams arrived on my doorstep Saturday, I naturally start freaking out. Basically my thoughts were just “omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomomogmgomgomgomgomg its here! omgomgomgomogmomgomg”
But I was like, well its BIG, and bigger packages are better packages right? (hehe insert inappropriate joke here).
Basically, after quite possibly the MOST anticlimactic moment of my entire being- the package turns out to be some prospective students pamphlet and letter is just telling me to visit and apply and crap.
*** WILLIAMS WAY TO RUB IT IN!!! Its not like i already visited and applied or anything… but that pamphlet will be so fun to read after you reject me…</p>
<p>Hahaha, this thread is hilarious, everyone freaking out . . . including me! It seems like a lot of people who are applying don’t think they have an exceptional application; including me . . . good to know, lol. So my favorite thing about Williams is everything!! But really, I love the tutorial style of teaching, the way the dorms are set up, the scenery and nearby Jiminy Peak- couldn’t get any better. </p>

<p>Im opening it alone and Ill probably be telling my parents first. Although if I get in, restraining myself from an obnoxious, overzealous fb status might be impossibly difficult.
What are you guys going to do if you get rejected? Any tips to handle the disappointment?

<p>If I get in I think I deserve to have an obnoxious fb status, lol. If not I’ll probably be depressed but I’ll have to get over it soon. I’m getting my other apps ready tonight for the most part and if I don’t get in sending them out the next day. Anyone have any suggestions for safety/reasonable schools that I could apply to? I need like 1 more and I’m having trouble finding one that won’t be high school all over again.</p>

<p>I was curious what everyone’s opinion was on the fb status thing. During my earlier years of high school, I used to think that it was obnoxious when seniors made those types of statuses. However, this year especially (with my school at least), it seems to basically be the norm, and anyone who doesn’t update their status after their school has released the decisions is basically assumed to have been rejected/deferred. Just thought I’d ask. (Obviously at this point I’m much more concerned with getting accepted than with what to do about my status if I do get accepted lol).</p>

<p>I’m definitely going to post an obnoxious FB status. Multiple exclamation points will be included. Haha.
And at my school, an FB status is a must. If you don’t post one people start raising eyebrows. </p>
<p>I think if I don’t get in I will watch (at least) two cheesy romantic comedies to convince myself that everything really does happen for a reason and then scurry to finish my other applications, which will be brutal.</p>

<p>there has been lots of talk about like geographically diverse people, legacies and athletes…i’m from the South, my sister is in the class of 2012, and i am an athlete…are any of you guys in similar situations hoping to use that as pull?</p>
<p>On your application status webpage, does it say that they received the Common App and supplement, or just the supplement? Mine doesn’t specifically list the common app itself, but it also says the application was complete, of course…</p>

<p>My friend finds out from Duke in 6 minutes, so the anxiety I feel right now must be magnified by 1000 in her. LUCKILY we’ll all get to experience it for ourselves in a little over 24 hours 
I really hope everyone gets in, you all seem like such good, quality people and im sad, unless there is some crazy twist of fate, we wont all get to know each other next year. </p>
<p>But remember we are more than an application, we are people with a galaxy of traits and idiosyncrasies, that could never be condensed onto a few pieces of paper. Don’t base your worth on an acceptance or rejection letter. </p>
<p>Sorry for the cheeseball, it was almost more for me than anyone else. I just feel like we tend to forget that, myself especially.</p>
