*Official African-American/Black HS Class of 2017 Decisions*

I saw that this has not been made for this year, so I decided to make one! You can post one if you’ve already have results. Or update with another post at the end. Or wait till all decisions are out, then post! I’ll also bump this when RD decisions come out.

Country (if international applicant): USA

Reflection:
Strengths: Likely my essays. I really had a lot of fun writing them. I’ve been having a lot of anxiety about my CA and other essays but this is reassuring. I realize that I’ve gotten the same merit award from Tulane as others w higher stats (32 ACT, 33 ACT)…Maybe the AO really liked me and this definitely would have been b/c of my essays.
Weaknesses: no demonstrated interest, ACT, transcript/gpa (2 C’s…4 B’s and 40 A’s)
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: essays, combination of ACT with URM??
Where else you are applying or have already applied: 3 instate publics, USC, Penn, Notre Dame, Stanford, Emory, Harvard, Uchicago
General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: Tulane will probably be my last acceptance because he other schools Im applying to are high reaches. I’ll see if it works out with money when I have all my decisions at the end. No matter where I go, I know I’ll be happy! It just feels good to be accepted by a school witha 30% acceptance rate and a ranking of #39 (even though I know those things don’t REALLY matter). Getting into a selective school with a lot of merit sort of validated my application, but that doesn’t mean I’m expecting good outcomes for RD. I’m still expecting to get rejected from all of them (a waitlist itself would be an honor).
