Is anyone taking this exam besides me?

I am... I have NO idea what its going to be on

I'm somewhat artistically inclined and can usually identify the period and/or region that art was done but I can say something to the effect of

Ghiberti's baptistry doors marked a departure from earlier simplistic designs to showcase a simplistic splendor, (roccoco?) this was later followed by post renaissance artists who chose to protray chaos

I'm most scared of artist's names right now. I feel pretty comfortable with short answers and essays, but MC seems like a hit or miss in terms of what they give you.

do you guys have any speculations about the essay topics?

for art history the curve is 139 or higher.
mc: # correct - # incorrect / 3
frq: (1-4) * 7 questions * 2.5
leq: (1-9) * 2 questions * 2.777

Our class has looked at the last 5 years of essays, and we're predicting the long essays will be:
1. Compare two works of art that show movement.
2. Compare two works of narrative art.

Obviously one of each will be non-western, which is my weakest area...I'm gonna fail! :(

ugh this test is going to be horrific... **** Why dont they have damn study guides!!!???

lol, an AP Art History study guide would be incredibly large and expensive. Also, there isn't much of a market for it, so there really is no reason for the test prep companies to make one for it.

oh god, here it comes... majorly fooked, majorly fooked, majorly fooked, majorly fooked, majorly fooked, majorly fooked, majorly fooked, majorly fooked, majorly fooked, majorly fooooooooooooooooookkkkkkeedddd!! AHHHHHH

Last year's essays mainly dealt with architecture. I don't think that will be a core focus area like last year.

EDIT: By the way if you can manage to get a 5 on the test at some institutions this test counts for massive hours of credit.

My S will be a freshman, and his college awards 8 credits (2 semester courses) for a 4 or 5 on AP Art History.

It was harder than I thought it would be...hope to still pull off a four though.

ARGH yes it was hard...I am sooooooooo glad our class looked at previous essays and made predictions though...those of you that took it and looked at my post this morning know what I mean, boom!

I'm expecting a 3 or a 4, I did ok on the multiple choice but I flopped on the short answer essays.

I love this test.

Nobody else took the test today??

OMG MC killed me, my teacher didn't go over any of the pictures on the first 4 slides. I struggled so much on that MC. Short answer and essays were extremely easy however. Hoping for a 4-5.

grah, I had to take both the government and the art history test today. My head is like mush right now. The art history multiple choice kicked my butt. The essays weren't as bad as the ones in some of the previous years, I still missed some important things. I was able to predict some of the stuff that would be on the exam though. and wow, these proctors are really serious about us not talking about what the questions actually are.

stevenlee87: is that curve to get a 5? Does anyone know all the breakdowns?

Here are the typical breakdowns for the AP Art History test: 135 to 200 is a 5; 102 to 134 is a 4; 72 to 101 is a 3; 52 to 71 is a 2 and 0 to 51 is a 1. Our teacher is AWESOME. We were prepared for everything!

The MC was horrible. Argh!

And as for prediction of the FR questions, you didn't really have to predict anything. In the course description, it said one of the questions would be about either body or narrative art, and since body composition questions are common, everyone should've seen the narrative art one coming. I don't even have an AP Art History class, so...sigh We'll see. I'm guessing I got a 3.

yes, the narrative in art question was predictable. ETS had asked Human form for the past three years so it was time for a change. I wrote on the Standard of Ur for Non-European and Tribute Money by Masaccio for European tradition. What did others write about?
