@decillion Do you think the actual exam is pretty comparable to the SAT CR?

@Matugi

It’s pretty comparable and I would say it’s more straightforward than SAT CR, SAT II Literature, and AP English Literature (which I just took on Thursday). Some of the questions are legit based on whether or not you know how to read a citation. So it’ll ask you, “Where was this excerpt published?” or like “Where would you most likely have found this excerpt?” Also, they ask a lot more about intent and rhetoric (I mean it is AP Lang) so instead of asking what things represent, they’ll ask, “Why do you think the author wrote this?” Or like “The author stated this thing in that way because…” It’s pretty straightforward overall, imo. There really isn’t anything to study… and there aren’t that many terms you even have to know. Even on AP Lit, they only asked like one question about poetic devices and it was pretty straightforward. If you’re going to “cram,” just practice doing a synthesis essay or the one where you’re analyzing the rhetoric of a passage.

do you guys think that we’ll have to know anything about the polymerase chain rxn (PCR) other than it rapidly copies pieces of DNA??
like should I study the Taq polymerase, the limitations of the PCR technique

AND (im looking at page 212 of the barron’s AP 2012 book), should i knokw RFLP’s (restriction length polymorphisms)??? IM SO SCREWED IF THIS COMES UP AS AN FRQ, it has in previous years!!!

sorry, i meant the 3rd edition of barron’s

I cannot memorize these life cycles! I’ve been trying for an hour now, but it just doesn’t stick…

Wow, those animations really helped!
As for PCR, I don’t think so…Heat is used to separate it, and special DNA polymerases derived from bacteria(that are heat resistant) is used instead of the other one. That’s all I know regarding PCR,lol.

If I got a 92 on a practice exam, how bad can I do on the FRQ’s to get a 5? I’m feeling pretty shaky on those.

Also, how hard was the 2002 exam compared to the rest?

Expect the unexpected people.

So far the 2012 ap science tests have been different/harder than other years.

How far are you guys studying?

@Cramthyme
a 92 is a brilliant score, you need approximately 10/40 on the essays to pull off a 5 with that MC score.

Um I just got 108/120 on the 2002 exam after getting a 73/100 on the 2008 exam… Someone want to explain to me how this is possible?

My reaction to reading this and realizing I have to take Biology and Physics side by side:

[Darth Vader NO! - YouTube](<a href=“Darth Vader NO! - YouTube”>Darth Vader NO! - YouTube)

I’ve been reading for hours and I look at the FRQs and can’t answer them. MC are fine but damn those FRQs are from hell

Could I Pull off a 3 if I would get 50 mc correct and like 10/40 frq points?? I suck at bio and I reaalllllly need at least a 3

@Browning1994 use this calculator to see how much u need on each part: [AP Pass - AP Biology Calculator](AP Biology Test Score Calculator - AP Pass)

guys I have 2 questions in the 2008 REAL RELEASED (not the practice one) exam. no 95 here http://i46.■■■■■■■.com/2znuakw.jpg and 99 here http://i47.■■■■■■■.com/zmo38.jpg. The answer to no. 95 is C and the answer to 99 is B. Thanks!

@jasonjackson

for number 99,
starch is a very large polymer and cannot cross membranes. Out of all those choices, the most likely explanation is that starch could not diffuse through the plant tissues and into other plants.

Cramthyme well explained the first question.

For the second question, it helps to prevent the spontaneous breakdown of hydrogen peroxide by catalase.

I just took the 1994 Up to number 100 and got 7 wrong, and on the 2008 18 wrong about two months ago. I hope this test is easy I really want a 5

Do any of you have the answers to the 2004 AP Biology multiple choice?
