Official AP Biology Post-Test Thread

OMG that is the best curve. EVER.

but i mean, that makes sense. my friend told me that all you need for a 5 is 55/100 on the mc, on 5 on each of the frq’s. :O

nevin are you aware that there’s a certain rule that says you can get at most a 4 on the exam if you leave an essay completely blank?

^ I thought that was a joke. Where did that information come from?

i thought the beginning MC were more difficult than the last, and the essays weren’t two bad exact for 2-3 subparts

prospectiveMD - not true; i know for a fact that my friend got a 5 on the exam last year, and he drew a cow on one of the essays instead of answering them.

…unless he was lying, which i seriously doubt.

focus of the test was overall weird. i didn’t think it really judged how well someone grasped ap biology, because a lot of the questions weren’t conceptual things…ie a person could have everything “in picture” with regards to ap bio, but not do well on this exam (for the mc that is)

“5 is 55/100 on the mc, on 5 on each of the frq’s”

Isn’t that a bit low?

55 x .9 + 20(1.5) = 79.5

1a1 - your work makes sense.

haha, i haven’t actually done out the calculations. i guess my friend was exaggerating the fact of how easy it is to get a 5 then! :P

yes its extremely low…
The formula I posted previously is accurate for the previous years based around all the released tests

I completely skipped part b on the third essay O_O. We never were taught that in class. MC, I gave up on.

So what is the score that you usually have to achieve to get a 5? A 60/150? An 85/150?

For this test and how easy it is you would need near 100/150

anyone interested in discussing…go to AIM chat “apbiowrapup”

Wasn’t sure on around 8 or so of MC. I educatedly guessed on like 3 then left 5 blank.

raw MC = around 88-90 pts, probably

As people mentioned, the focus of the essays was kind of awkward…Probably around a 28/40 on the essays.

Overall: 5, easily, no question.

I keep asking what my score could be, but I know that I won’t get the result till like July, and the week before I’ll be thinking about it, and then I’ll feel even worse if I come back here in 2 days to discuss the questions, so I think I’ll just try and forget about it totally till the scores come out, if I can lol. Still think I got at least a 4, but a 5 is a possibility and would be great.

the MC was hard but the free response wasnt as bad as i thought they would be… god it was difficult tho

Ok so i left 12 blank. and i think i got maybe 5 wrong. so… ~87/100. i probably got 30/40 on the frqs… so that means i got like a 102.5/150

No, that’s 123.3. Congrats.

I think it was OK. Answered everything and did all the FRQs, bsed two sections I think.

Well, I think the test went well. I left only three multiple choice blank, and I thought that all the essays were pretty easy. What did everyone else think of it?
