Official AP Calculus Thread for 2009

Yeah. I studied all the trig and inverse trig derivatives and integrals, and never used them. Same with volumes. MC was fine. 3rd Calc Free Response was like…**? Weird questions. 2nd non-calc FR was meh, got maybe 50%. 3rd non-calc was …I got owned. From what I see hear as well as what my classmates said, this is gonna be one hell of a curve. I think I got 90 something % MC, and 75% FRQ, so would that be enough for a 5?

I thought it was in the middle - not too hard not too easy. I’m glad my teacher gave us the Audit for our final. The FRQ were very similar and the MC were soo much better in comparison.

the MC , I think I went too fast and missed a few for being too hasty.

Okay, well I took the AB exam and I really do not think I did so hot. I left like seven blank on the multiple choice and the ones that I did answer some of them I was not 100% sure about. The first frq was pretty easy and I was like, okay, so this is going to be a breeze but they got progressively harder (at least in my opinion) and by the time i got to the sixth one i have pretty much given up. I had no idea how to do 6a so i wrote a little note explaining how i was really confused and having a terrible morning… anybody else have a difficult time as well?

my teacher supposedly has a 100% pass rate. i think i am going to be the first one to break his perfect record. :(

I made some wicked stupid mistakes, but I hope they don’t bring my score down. I think overall I did very well on the open response, and alright but not amazing on the MC. I was upset that many of the topics were not tested or just made a brief appearance on the BC test.

Oops, my bad! @_@ I meant the polar question in part B of the MC. Sorry for the confusion!!!

@ vnese, yes I’m dead serious. I’ve done it on my Gov, Stat, and today’s Calc exam :D

I’m pretty sure I’ve aced all of them…btw I took calc AB, which is probably why it felt like cake-walk –> this is SPARTA! A lot of my BC friends said the test was a bit tougher than expected…

yeah other people always tell me calc is an easy AP test, so i didn’t study… but this was WAY easier than I expected. I actually think I got 100% MC, and 83% FR (I got 0/9 on the last free response). It didn’t strike me as particularly odd during the test, but now I do agree with other posters that there were a surprisingly large number of topics not tested on. Also I felt that there were quite a few (easy) Taylor problems… There was only one volume problem and it was pretty easy. Only one polar and it was also easy (“do you know the formula?”).

A general question:
If you have f’(x) defined and you want to find f(3)-f(2), is that just equal to f’(2.5) or do you have to diff EQ-it?

I thought the Multiple Choice for BC was extremely hard.

member, integrate f’ from 2 to 3? xD

i think i got 1 wrong on the MC non calculator.

i finished the MC calculator with like half an hour to spare, lol.

might have gotten an 8 or 7 in one of the FR’s, but solid 5.

I did good on the MC, almsot a walk in the park.

Then I got the the FRQ’s, all 123 students in the room got annihilated.

what will happen guys?
after the first section i didnt seal it properly,so i pulled part of it back, but then i put the other one on top of it will they think i went back to part A? and cancel my score? i emailed my counselor to nofity CB of this or leave a note on my exam…am i screwed?

^ english please…

JDF569----that happened to me too…except it was because my proctor messed up the directions. So, basically I dont have a seal that goes all the way around the middle part (I put one on the top and bottom tho)

Anyone have experience of this? What should we do? WIll our scores be canceled?

That doesn’t sound like too severe a mistake - just inform someone about it

For the test, I thought there were like 2 MC i was not sure about

meh, just leave it and hope for the best… i don’t think they’d give u a 0 or w/e b/c of that… i mean that’s what proctors are for, to make sure there isn’t cheating…

I’m wondering why everyone thought FRQ 6 was tough… IMO it was pretty easy except for part d…

im really paranoid that i misgridded my answers i may have. if i ask for a rescore do you think they will take this into consideration if they see an obvious pattern that the answers are off by 1 question?

Well, its done by a machine so I don’t think they really analyze the answer sheets - sorry =(

i thought part d was easy but now that everyone says it was hard I’m scared that I misinterpreted the question and did it wrong
