Official AP Statistics Thread 2012

Ill get all the numbers

Ill bs the explainations

3 at best, I’m ready!

^ Use a pooled proportion when trying to find the standard deviation of a 2-sample proportion. Pooled proportion: (x1+x2)/(n1+n2)

zachb757: you use pooling when doing a 2 proportion z test, but not when doing 2 proportion confidence intervals. see here: [AP Central - Why Do We Pool for the Two-Proportion z-Test?](<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board)

are you talking about:

z=p1-p2/sqrt[(pc(1-pc)/n1)+(pc(1-pc)/n2)]

???

Lmao *** that was a joke.

frq was a joke!

post test discussion on <a href=“Live video chat rooms, simple and easy. - Tinychat”>Live video chat rooms, simple and easy. - Tinychat;

Disclaimer = Be careful when discussing MC and FRQ

well i failed that. hoping for a three.

Much easier than expected thank goodness! My teacher made my class a nightmare but I guess it was worth it because we all walked out of the test confidently. Very hopeful for a 4 or 5!

Wow. Amazingly easy - I’m shocked and really, really glad.

Whata joke. Except for investigative task. and obviously I just missed the easiest question ever. Note to self: You cannot be B- and B+ -.-. GAHWWW agsqjwhgdh.

My only problem was timing…

^ lol I was getting board

Not to sound like a jerk to others who found it difficult, but that was a lot easier than the previous ones (especially open response)

Just glad it’s over

Sent from my LG-VM701 using CC

that seemed very easy compared to some of the prior practice free response tests online. The investigative seemed almost too easy, to the point where I think I might have messed it up…

expecting a 4, hoping for a 5!

AP Stat was way easier than I thought it would be… I’ll probably end up with a high 4 or a low 5 (screwed up 1 frq and something like 5 multiple choice)

Absolutely owned the FRQ. But M/C I absolutely FAILED!!! Only during the break did I found out that the tables were in the back of the booklet!! Wah!! and plus i fell asleep during the exam a bit… I was predicted one question/point from a 5… and I was hoping for a 5 this time around but… m/c sucked really really bad.

If I get lets say… only one partial and everything else Essentially correct, what would be my predicted score?

neorobie, here’s my reasoning:

If you get one partial and everything else essentially correct(which is near perfect), that’s 50 points minus 1.875, assuming it wasn’t the last question, so let’s say 48. If you guess the MC, you’ll average 8 correct(although I’m certain you got more than that), for a total of 58(MC score is # correct x1.25), so that’s a 4 at the very least. Barron’s book says the curve for a 4 is 49-62. 63+ for a 5. If you REALLY think you were near perfect on the FRQ’s, then 12/40 on the MC will get you the 5. I for one think it’s possible that you’re exaggerating your FRQ’s(though considering that this is College Confidential, probably not, now that I think about it), but you surely did better on the MC than you think. I didn’t need the tables in the back except for a few MC questions.

so easy…i love my teacher and this class in general. #APSTATS4LYFE

to the kid who mentioned being “board” during the test… I wouldn’t be so quick to brag, I’m not sure how well you’ll do on english… :/

Actually English was earlier today.

But one of my friends mentioned that one of the free response may or may not have referred to a question talking about a survey conducted over the phone. If this hypothetical question was on the test, what would you guys have put? Was the survey even valid?

If I didn’t name the test I used for the FRQ but showed worked (such as plugging the number into the proper equation and all steps completed), would I be deducted a point?
