***OFFICIAL AP Statistics Thread 2014-2015***

@picuberoot
They can’t cancel all our scores. :))

I started with no E’s in the beginning but then was barraged with E’s toward the end… Talk about probability and statistics…

What were the answers to #3- ???

a. .85
b.1.73
c…24
d. ?

@harsh98 what were the questions again

What about he problem that had to do with feet and meters?
I guessed 4/3.3 squared.

  1. probability of at least 1
  2. expected value
  3. some conditional probability

@harsh98 for c I got .28. I did .24/.85

@MrWiggles my teacher told me NEVER to use pooled variances lol…

@harsh98 @sched234 Yeah C was 0.28 and then D was the expected value isnt the same since they are mutually exclusive so knowing at least one is working changes the probability of the others.

we only use pooled in 2 pro-z test, but never pooled in 2 samples t test

I said they blocked for grades only. The GPA being close together is just a matched pair. The review method is the treatment for each matched pair. Gg.

How many FRQ points and MCs can one miss and still make a 5?

@Tweedle http://appass.com/calculators/statistics

@APmaster007 it was 4^2/3.3^2

^thats what i put

Wat were the reasons on #1 b-c

@harsh98 B was asking why you would want to work at the one with the outliers. I said there’s a higher range/variability and a higher chance for me to get a much higher salary. Something along those lines

For C I said if i wanted to take the safer option. I compared it to the above stemplot and said how there were still some people working there who were still paid the starting salary after 5 years, while the lowest salary after 5 years at the other company was higher than the starting salary.

@Jasondinh1 If they specified value is in the range of your confidence interval, doesn’t that give convincing evidence that it can be the proportion listed?

It seems really easy getting a 5. I think I got 26-30 on the mc. And for the frqs is as follows, a 4,2,2,1,4,1

It’s funny because for one of the FRQs, I only had 3 minutes left so I started working out the problem and afraid of running out of time, I wrote a completely random number. Turns out, I was 0.02 units off xD Anyway I think the second part made sense with my first part, so at least I get partial credit
