What are the most important things to know? Is there any short but comprehensive cram study guide for this online?
(I’m self-studying and kind of haven’t started studying yet)
@APmaster007 The answer C because of logic based on age. You can’t have a negative age right? So w/ a mean of 5 and a sd of 3 , 2 sd’s below the mean is -1 years. Therefore, ALL of the rabbits ages will be above 1sd below the mean. i drew a normal model kind of to help me visualize it.
I didn’t do 29 bcos im lazy but did you read the question and decide the alternative hypothesis is not equal to it? If so don’t forget to double p…just a guess but i didn’t do it again.
If you haven’t started yet, I’d say go to find a guide about how to use the graphing calculator. Plug and chug is like 60% of the test, easy points. And learn about hypothesis test (look thru frqs of previous years).
Better start that now
Do we get the list of formulas for the multiple choice or just the free response?
@lab92760 We get a list of formulas for both MC and FRQs. They are located in the front of the exam book. Anyone know what the FRQs will mostly cover?
My son said that he thought that AP Stats was not as hard as chemistry for example. He received a 4 and was only a sophomore. He had the class in high school.
I’m just scared there are going to be tons of questions dealing with probability and naming the different types of samples (stratified, simple random sample, comparative random sample, etc.) all over the MC. That’s what killed me on one of the practice tests. What are the FRQs generally based on?
@AnniiT Stratified and simple random samples are pretty easy to distinguish. A simple random sample is when you take a sample from an entire population, whereas a stratified random sample is when a population is divided into categories, and a random sample is taken from each category. Sorry if i confused u in any way haha
Also, I’m guessing there will definitely be some sort of confidence interval and the different kinds of tests on the FRQs. I’m just scared for question 6 because i can never understand them
@Spirits I get confused between SRS and completely randomized sample or something like that.
@AnniiT oh ok nevermind, i have no idea what that is
Hey, I just wanted to wish you all good luck. I’m not taking the AP Stats exam, but my younger sister is self-studying for it. She got started late due to some stuff and is really cramming now, so we won’t be surprised if she doesn’t make it, but we’re hoping for the best. She is good at tests (got an 80 on the CLEP calculus exam last year), but she hasn’t studied that much for this test, so…
@albert69 You sister shouldn’t worry too much because first, statistics has one of the highest passing rates for AP exams and plus, a lot of the questions deal with common sense and understanding basic concepts. The math is not hard at all, but definitely tell her to remember all the formulas (some like the test statistic for proportion tests and sample means) are not given to you on the exam, so definitely memorize those.
@APmaster007 Are you kidding me? That’s essentially a guaranteed five bro.
We should make a list of formulas we have to memorize that aren’t on our sheet. Add on if know any.
-Outlier Formulas
@Gatortristan
Yeah, now I understand number 13. And @SoSophistic what do you mean? 26 on the mc is a borderline between a 4 and a 5.
Sample t test, proportion test, linear regression test, chi squared, confidence intervals
-Outlier Formulas
- adding/subtracting/dividing/multiplying means and standard deviation
if theres an frq on chi squared tests rip my score. I was absent those days last week and I never learned it.
@Gatortristan It’s not that difficult, but there’s a lot of work especially for the goodness of fit because you must find the expected values and they take a while depending on the data given. What do you not understand?
