What do you mean 1700 total? If that’s monthly rent I’d be more than willing to share (I want to be as close to Barnard as possible).

That’s rent Not sure what, if any, utilities are included

Okay, I can definitely handle that! I’m sure the place will have electricity, but lack of internet access is probably a deal breaker for me.

Oh I would get Internet !

Lillisophia: I pm-ed you! I’m also wondering if the place is furnished or do you have to get your own furniture?

just answered! get furniture sadly, but that is the way it is if you want to “start” your own apt! :(

I replied your last message!

Ah, I might well be interested in that! D’you guys still have space, or is the place too small to accomodate four?

hey all, I am looking for places now. Two bedrooms mostly, but if the second person wants to split there room, that is ok. I would like my own room! haha or I can also look into 3 bedrooms?

Whatever works. If there’s no room, no worries… I’ll figure something out.

this is just all such a mess

i agree! everything is kinda screwed up! Does anyone know how many people are there actually without a room?

I’m guessing it’s at least half the transfers, considering that people from the west coast aren’t getting housing

But where could they possibly live?! I am from SoCal and that is about as far away from campus as you can get without being an international student!

I mean it’s also a matter of deposit date (but if you submitted it really early, I have no idea what’s going on here)

I didnt get accepted until June, but I deposited asap. I don’t think it’s fair of them to hold my admission date against me, I deposited as early as I could.

It’s definitely unfair, but I think that’s what happened. People were getting acceptance letters mid-May.

oh barnard! they must be quietly chuckling as we all scramble to find housing!

This housing fiasco is just making me a lot less enthusiastic about my first semester at Barnard

Well, I’m not usually one to say this, but… as setbacks go, this is of the lesser orders. We’ll work this out, guys. Remember that Barnard is far, far bigger than ResLife. When we find a suitable space - and we all will - our first semesters’ll be just as they would have been otherwise.

Thinking through my options as we speak. If four is too large a group, I don’t mind going solo on this one.
