I just got my acceptance package in the mail! I thought for sure I was going to get rejected… this is so exciting! I live in the Silicon Valley, CA

I live in Chicago and I’m still waiting for my admissions decision. Seriously doubting that I will get in but still hoping! I haven’t seen anybody from Chicago or anywhere in the Midwest so I’m wondering if anybody is from there and has received a letter yet…thanks!! Good luck to all!

Wait listed as well

Has anyone received the email? I was not in the U.S now, so I called admission office yesterday, and the woman who is responsible for transfer applicants told me that she would send out emails today by 5pm. But I still haven’t got the email. :(

for those wait listed: are you accepting your place on the wait list or transferring elsewhere?

Wait listed - not staying on it.

(Going to Reed instead unless U Chicago accepts me from its wait list)

i’m keeping my spot on the wait list. do you all know how many people are on the list and if they are ranked?

i wish! anyone know about the wait list?? help us girls out!

My name’s on the wait-list, too. I’m going to call the Admissions Office tomorrow and attempt to piece together what, exactly, that means. I’ll let you guys know if I stumble across anything important.

(First post on College Confidential, as it happens. Oh, Barnard, the things I’ll do.)

Good luck to everyone who’s still waiting on a decision. Keep in mind that admissions officers often make mistakes (i.e. they admitted me)

i am joining the class of 2015! any other future sophomores here??

also waitlisted , i wonder how many other ppl are on it my senior yr i was waitlisted at duke and never got off so im not too fond of waitlists lol !

@cbbtrans are you staying on the list or transferring elsewhere?

hopefulgrl11, I’m going to be a sophomore in the Fall! Do you know when we hear back regarding whether or not we get housing?

hey guys! i just paid my deposit to barnard and will be entering in the fall as a sophomore. As for housing arrangements, is it possible to get paired with with returning students as well? Or are we simply going to be rooming with other incoming transfers/ or have our own room. I want to get a single, but am worried that that’ll be difficult to make friends, considering that there aren’t many transfer students to begin with and all returning students have probably formed their friend groups. What do you guys think?!

I don’t know what the housing is like for transfers. I’m not sure we are even guaranteed housing! I hope we do get roomed with returning students though It would make the whole process a lot easier to live with someone who knows the ropes

Are you guys all loaded or something? I don’t think I can go to Barnard; my financial aid isn’t very good (they consider my noncustodial parent’s income even though he wouldn’t contribute to my costs of attendance)

@justina11. Barnard is wildly expensive! Sad that you might not be able
To take your place though you might be helping another girl realize her dream of attending barnard ! My dad said he would sell our house if I get off the wait list, I told him he was insane. Good luck on wherever life takes you.

Yeah, my mom was talking about liquidating her retirement funds to help out, and I was like “nooooooooooo”
I’m in the process of writing letters to rich relatives who hardly realize I exist. If I can’t get any financial assistance I’ll probably wind up at Emory or UGA.
Good luck with the waiting list. Maybe I’ll be able to open up a spot for you.
