*****Official Boston College EA Class of 2018 Thread****

Cavmom: Boston College doesn’t have the space to guarantee 4 years of housing for everyone. A large majority only get 3. From what I’ve gathered BC only gives 4 years of housing to full scholarship athletes, School of Nursing students, and then the top 15% of the admitted pool (aka the students admissions really really wants to enroll). Four years of housing is a special thing because it’s rare (I don’t know the exact statistic, but a vast majority don’t receive it), and it’s used as a recruiting tool for the students the school has at the top of its list.

Thanks. I think I will have her call tomorrow for further clarification. Still a little confusing.

We live in VA, just outside of DC. Didn’t get anything in the snail mail, but just logged into the Agora portal and it’s clear that my son was accepted. It’s pretty cryptic, but his application status changed and there are links to pay your deposit, defer your acceptance, etc.

So LOG IN NOW!

Did anyone’s Agora who was accepted not change? I havent recieved anything in the mail yet and my Agora isn’t changed so I’m getting a little anxious

Yeah, did anyone’s not change that got in?

same here . :(

Received the email yesterday and my AGORA portal changed today, adding an option to pay enrollment fee and stuff.
I’m pretty sure that if you are admitted you should get this new link on your portal.

pulliamjs: Thank you!!
We live in Maryland – nothing by snailmail yesterday – but (thanks to you) just checked the Agora portal and it’s different than it was yesterday: cryptic, yes, but now when I click Application Status there are the links you mention, for paying the deposit or deferring your acceptance. :-D

You are welcome!

And, sorry if my post is causing folks that haven’t seen the update (and haven’t gotten snail mail) to freak out. It’s possible that you were admitted and BC’s updates haven’t taken place yet for your account.

Here in San Francisco. Have not received anything in mail but just checked daughter’s portal and it did change! I really hope this means an acceptance!

Clearly, it is not good news, if your portal hasn’t changed. However, it is not bad news, either. No news, is no news. I wonder whether the portal has changed for those who
have been rejected?

BTW, nothing to hit Park City, UT…other than a snow storm (YAY!).

My account changed and I can now pay enrollment! Thanks for letting me know!

How exactly did it change? We do not have mail and portal looks same

It changed!!! Thank you @pulliamjs!

I’m excited, but I probably won’t end up going here unless the aid is really good.

When you click on applicant status it then gives you an option to pay enrollment. However, if I remember correctly, two years ago when my son applied, there were kids who got in whose portal did not change right away so do not give up hope!

So if it says this:

“If you have not previously submitted your non-refundable Enrollment Confirmation and Housing Guarantee fees, please click here to do so.”

You’re accepted?

We are in CA. I just logged in to portal to check my son’s enrollment and it gives us an option to pay enrollment fees. So we might be in. is that right?

No letter though yet.

I live in Southern California… i haven’t received a mail from Boston College, and my portal has not changed…is this the same for other Southern Californians? Or does this mean I got rejected: (

It sounds like BC is releasing decisions in batches. Not sure if it’s geographical, alphabetical, in order by scores or random. But if all decisions were made on Monday, technically they could have released everything electronically, right?
