How are my odds?

Your stats are similar to mine.

Bad high school GPA (about 2.83 for me). I’m a sophomore at Jr.College, will transfer as a Junior. College GPA will be between 3.7 and 3.9, depending on this semester, hopefully the higher end.

I don’t have an internship, but have a decent amount of volunteer work, and am the Publicity director for an honor society on campus, for which I’ve done a good amount of work.

I just hope the HS gpa doesn’t automatically disqualify me. I have finished 30 units, 17 in progress. By the time I transfer, I will finish over 60…hopefully they all transfer.

I’m applying for the COM school for advertising.

For those of you who were admitted to BU, what were your reasons for “why BU is a good fit for you and what specifically has led you to apply for admission?”
I know they are looking for more then I love the campus and I have the grades to attened.

I wish this thread was more active. I’m applying to USC as well and they have almost a thousand posts in their transfer thread. Not a competition, but does that indicate that BU is not on many people’s radar for transfer or they simply don’t care as much about BU? I know a lot of the people wanting to go to USC have that as their top choice.

@tennischamp,

I basically wrote that moving across the country will be a good experience and its good for me to take on new challenges and be in a new city. I also talked specifics about the curriculum, internship opportunities, and student diversity.
