Official Brown 2015 WAITING Room (for wait-listers only)

i feel the same way, russia…i got into a great school, but brown seems perfect.

yeah paris, same here…i really just want to know now.

have letters, emails or both been sent?

Hey, I got the rejection letter in the mail yesterday, no email. I imagine that this was just the first wave of rejections/acceptances and those of you with no news still have a chance.

My son received his rejection in the mail today. Oh well, now he will have to attend Yale.:o

I think you may have misread the letter. It stated that when you were placed on the waitlist they had hoped to offer you a position in the future, not that you would be considered in the future.

My son got his rejection letter today. Looks like it’s Pomona for sure because I just am not getting a good feeling on the Princeton WL.

Just got rejected from Harvards WL, still haven’t received ANY info from Brown…

My daughter got her “sorry, but no” letter today. I doubt they even read her update letter (sent it first week of May). It looks like those accepted had already gotten encouraging emails from Brown by that time.

Congrats to all those who got in and those still hoping. My son’s had a great 4 years there and is probably sorry to see graduation soon approaching.

redguard, I’m in the same boat!

Have people on the West Coast gotten any news from Brown? I’m scared I have a rejection letter that hasn’t been delivered yet, since I haven’t heard anything at all…

or maybe you’re the last of the lucky (amazing) ones?

Nothing from Brown here in the Midwest. Just got my rejection from Stanford a week ago and Harvard today. Wesleyan here I come!

jerzgrlmom, haha if only we were so lucky. Maybe we’re still under “consideration.” My letter of interest was also sent late (ie end of first week of May) so maybe thats why. If I get in great, if not I’m honestly ready to move on and fully enjoy the closure of something we’ve worked towards for the past 12 years of our lives.

I sent the update letter on 7th May and received a reply on 9th May. An admission officer said that they were just beginning the process at that time  4 days for consideration… hmmm I think it’s possible.
just for curiosity: how long are your letters? My letter is about 2500-word long… a little anxiety that they dont read it :(

Everything sent to admissions gets read and put in the candidates file.

If your son/daughter was put on the waitlist, admissions already determined they were a fit for Brown and would have done well if admitted.

Keep in mind that very few candidates are taken off the waitlist, and it is generally used to offer candidates admission who fit a specific profile, which can be based on location, potential concentration, etc.

Just got my rejection letter :frowning: bye brown

Got my rejection letter, too. (I’m on the East Coast) I must say it was a nice rejection letter and didn’t make me feel too bad. I’m looking forward to going to Bard. Almost glad I didn’t have to make the decision between them.

Good luck to the rest of you!

still no word…east coast here

yeah still no word for me(I live in RI)

Wait you heard that they received your letter of interest? I never got any response… Maybe I should call them again

yeah I got two responses… I sent my email to the office and the adcom for my region too. I got confirmations from both :D
