That was really smart! but 2011-2012 doesn’t apply to us, that would be class of 2015. (I think??)

@duda94 and @jcbaltazar Opa, legal saber que mais Brasileiros podem ser aceitos! T

@duda94 Sou de Sampa tamb

Trying to be optimistic, but wouldn’t you guys think that if we were to get off the waitlist, they would call us first? And not have to rely on the snail mail process. Then again, if we were z-listed, I suppose snail mail is okay since it really isn’t the best news we could have received for being on the waitlist.

@tenacious94 I think so! I’ve done some heavy research! I’m freaking out! haha
@jcbaltazar que legal! pm me depois, pra gente conversar!
@brazilianatbrown continua torcendo!!! com sorte a gente vai se conhecer esse fall! ( COM MUITA SORTE! )

I just read it really closely, I’m thinking it’s class of 2015…because it says that was the report that was submitted for the fall of 2011. BUT I do remember reading that they only expected 1485 to enter last year, & the fact that 1507 enrolled & they still took ppl off the waitlist is pretty encouraging. Unless I’m incorrect in my inferences of course lol

@tenacious94 either way, it’s good news huh? oh I want to be accepted! :)

Where are you guys heading this fall ( til the point) ?

I’m going to Pomona college, this small LAC in California…this day is so nervewracking. I just wanna know either way!

My counselor phoned Brown and my regional officer (im international) told him that I would receive my decision by mail tomorrow.

Hows that possible? They cant know when it’ll arrive to another country! Isnt there a chance of being emailed? I mean in 21st century regular mail sound silly (no guarantee we will receive it - at least on time). Its not fair: when ppl in the us know about their decisions, us internationals wont… i wish we d be informed asap !! Email would be more efficient for everyone … I’m sick of waiting !

Maybe we can view the decisions online from the site we did for the RD?
And dont they say like “you have a week to accept our offer” or smt like that if you are accepted off the WL? I ve never heard of any other university mailing the decisions; weirdd

Aeropromaster-- I’m going to Pomona too!! (unless of course I get extremely lucky with waitlists) but I’m super excited for Pomona if not haha

how cool @Boston111 and @aeropromaster!
I’m going to NYU Stern

What about you Lara94? Oh, and where are you from?

sorry guys, i left my pc logged in because i was writing to provide you info about the conversation my counselor had with brown and i just found out that my cousin (who has been there with me the whole time) posted a reply that only the first sentence was written by me. I’m not an aggressive person, I’m just a huge fan of Lara Croft, not aggressive haha. I’m from turkey and I’m desperately waiting for brown’s decision or else I’ll study in turkey (i didnt apply to anywhere else because i wanna stay in my home town if im not admitted to my dream school)

I agree that it’s silly they won’t use email or something faster to contact people. I also think it’s really bad of them to refuse to disclose certain information over the phone: it’s to Brown’s benefit for people to know that there are waitlist spots available, so it doesn’t make sense to me that they insist on keeping the information secret. Yet some say there are spots, and others refuse to indicate an answer either way. Doesn’t seem very compassionate of them, but I suppose it’s their prerogative.

This whole mailing thing reminds me of WUSTL. They used to snail mail me and it took 3-4 weeks to get here. It was a DISASTER! I hope Brown air mails me like how Princeton did :)

i firmly believe that the letters that were sent in the last two days are all rejections, and that no one was admitted yet… 27,000 views and not even one applicant posted that he or she has been accepted… My logic tells me that admitted students will be notifed by an email or a phone call… Especially international students since regular mail takes a lot of time to arrive… My regional officer has informed me that I will be notifed by an email… Not mail… Someone posted that everyone is going to receive a letter… What my regional officer told me contradicts that… In short: hope for an email :)!!

Dan, I don’t think everybody receiving a letter is exclusive of people also being contacted through other means. When I spoke with them today they confirmed that there are acceptances among the bunch, so I’m not really sure what to make of it. You’re definitely right that it’s odd nobody has posted yet with an acceptance, but that just leads me to believe that they really ARE only doing mail initially; it doesn’t lead me to conclude that there are no acceptances, because they told me the opposite.

Granted, you’re right that there’s a ton of inconsistent information floating around, and all we can do is hope for the best. I guess we’ll see.

Well, let’s say 5 / 500 are accepted off the wait list, there’s a large chance that those 5 aren’t on CC so we wouldn’t know about someone’s acceptance…

Yesterday I sent an e-mail to Brown updating them on my new accomplishment. Several hours later I got a reply: We will add it to your profile. Thank you. Why should they add it to my profile if they have already sent out all the decision letters by mail, and my update has no impact on their decision? My guess is, Brown will notify students by e-mail or they will just call. Or at least, they are sending out letters by mail today.

as an international student my response from the office was: “you will receive your decision TODAY, alas we are not using the waitlist this year”.

1) “today” is very specific and theres no way im receiving it when nobody in the US did. so maybe i’ll be emailed? (contradicting the regular mail info and if i’ll be emailed that would maybe mean that i got in)
2) if my regional officers tells my counselor that WL wont be used, than i guess im not admitted.

so im pretty confused i dont know what to think. any ideas? (except for “we’ll wait & see :)” )

It’s only getting weirder and weirder with each post… lol :)
