[ /list][ b]Reflection[ /b][ list]
[ *] Strengths: Essays, Recs, Interview
[ *] What you tried to focus on in your application - any hooks you tried to make for yourself: My heritage and encompassing majors that I wanted to study.
[ *] Weaknesses: test scores, obviously. My rank could have been better.
[ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think Brown was really able to see that I fit the school perfectly, and that I would undoubtedly make them proud whether as an actor or doctor.
[ *] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Only here! Find out about FSU tonight.

NEW QUESTION
[ *] Your “Brown” factor - the most unique thing in your application: My unique concentrations and passions for both of them. It’s really what Brown encourages and I fit that, I guess. I’m so happy. Don’t let test scores decide where you apply. Everyone on here told me I had decent chances and no chances for PLME. Well, I got both.

wow popcharlie! congrats on PLME! I’m jealin’. :P

I know it is definitely not a scientific sample, but from above so far 11 acceptances, and tons of deferred decisions. I’d say those are very good stats for CC members posting here. (I know it really doesn’t represent a 30% acceptance, but it is still a good number!)

So Congrats to those accepted students!

To the Deferred Students: congrats too! That is a big achievement and keep up your hopes! Really large number of deferred status, so I suspect some are rejections that don’t want to post yet. Also accounting for this are a number of PLME applicants that did not seem very enthusiastic about Brown beyond PLME status. (Don’t say I didn’t warn you.) For those of you who are deferred and still dying to go to Brown, do let Brown know if ANY thing has changed since your app went in (or in the next 3 months) that adds a significant “improvement” to your resume. That also lets Brown know of your continued interest, and that you are not giving up!
I know it sks to have to do more aps, but think how easy they will seem after the Brown supplement! I have also speculated that there is some possibility that the RD pool might be down a tad due to that supplement, so maybe the odds for(and also why the numbers of) deferees is up.

For those who did not get in, remember that you have many great schools to explore and get into still to come. You will find your new dream school. Your aps will hopefully have been made a bit easier from having to have done the Brown one! Wishing you all luck and cheer!

I got accepted to Brown! (So excited, I’m still crying lol) & I was deffered PLME! (I’m still happy hey!) So, what should I do, should I send in a letter explaining that I’m still passionate about it…or?

Wow, were we all deferred?

31 ACT (33 superscored, since no one could figure out for sure if that counted)
3.9 UW 4.6 W
11/425

Time to go finish 4/9 remaining supplements!

decision: DEFERRED
ACT: 30
wish brown superscored!
anyone know any stats on deferred getting accepted?
still hoping, good luck everyone!

[] Weaknesses: SAT French w/ Listening, haha. I thought I was done for when I saw my score. B’s in math courses
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I made sure they knew I was passionate about writing, so that when they saw some of my math and science gradesw, they knew English and social studies were the subjects I truly loved and invested time in.
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: pretty application to UT Austin wasn’t processed correctly/completely…so nowhere else! GO BROWN!

[/ul]NEW QUESTION[ul]
[*] Your “Brown” factor - the most unique thing in your application: The elderly and playing the ukulele! I’m not even joking. Future applicants, don’t go mainstream and spend all of your time in too many things like Key Club or NHS. Sure, they make an app seem somewhat more solid, but most of the time they just end up looking like dead weight. Find an activity that you love and people that you enjoy spending time with, and invest yourself. Do what you like, pursue your true interests, and the rest will follow. Well-roundedness is for squares  [/ul]

I’m sooo excited!!! congrats to everyone else who was accepted! Hope to meet you guys in the fall! and good luck to everyone who was deferred!

tpateko7 – you mentioned you “wished Brown superscored.” How do you knwo they do not? Do you – or anyone else here – know what the protocol at other Ivies is for that? And by superscoring, you mean taking the best SAT/ACT score subset and putting them together as your final score – thus your highest on each section, right? thanks for the info!

Decision: Deferred

Objective:[ul]
[] SAT I (breakdown): 750CR 770M 670WR (2190 Total)

[] Counselor Rec: Really good. He is also my Physics teacher, so he knows all my strong points.
[] Additional Rec: N/A

[] What you tried to focus on in your application - any hooks you tried to make for yourself: the combination of Physics and Philosophy and why this can help shape my identity in college, which is my purpose of spending four years there.

**NEW QUESTION: Your “Brown” factor - the most unique thing in your application **: a broad variety of interests mixed well intentionally and artistically with one another. But, unfortunatelly, in restrospect I dont think I really succeeded in showing off it… expect to do it in an email later.
