@BatWonder77 I’m talking about the add to cart function! I can’t remember where I read that though.
Anyone called the admission about the “Click Here” button
Good luck to everyone! May the odds ever be in your favor! Does anyone think that Brown’s transfer acceptance rate this year will shoot down since they accepted so many people (16.7%) in the Spring of 2015?
Definitely because more people will be applying and we don’t how many seats are available this year… But normally with an admission rate this high(usually it’s below 10%), we should expect a much lower admission rate the following year…
@AimHighandFight haha you just crushed my dreams with that piece of reality.
I swear this thread is like a deja vu. Us first-years were doing the exact same things you guys are doing now (freaking out about the portal and small website logins) a month ago! Literally, a week before decisions came out on the last day of March, we were dissecting every minuscule detail about the portal.
I promise you, it means absolutely nothing. I could log in into those Brown websites, including the payment area, course registration and dictionary and stuff (even before I got my decision), and I got rejected this year. I doubt it means anything different for transfers vs. first years.
Guys, please chill out and relax, you will get what you deserve. I hope you all get in, as I am planning on transferring to Brown if I’m not happy this year.
@mg29409 , its kinda worse when you’ve be rejected 1st year, waitlisted 2nd year, and this is your 3rd time trying for brown uni. And not to mention this is the last shot I have at my dream school…
@BatWonder77 Wow… Dude I’m so sorry. Please know I’m definitely rooting for you. Brown is my dream school as well, and seeing as you’re so persistent and dedicated to apply 3 freaking times is an accomplishment. How do you have time to rewrite the essays over again?
I sincerely hope you finally get what you want, and go to Brown.
@mg29409 , thank you so much. I appreciate it. I’ve visited their campus a bunch of times and I love it. Everything from the town, food, students, professors, etc. It’s just the place to be and I feel like I can definitely fit in there with ease. If you’re passionate about something, and I am about Brown, rewriting essays doesn’t become an issue whatsoever. I love Brown man, I just really hope I get in. My dad went there for post-graduate studies, and all the stories he’s told me about the place as well just reaffirms my drive to go there!
@BatWonder77 Ahh, I know how you feel! Brown is the only university that offers the concentration I am interested in and the one year MPA really aligns with my career goals. My sister and her husband went to Brown Medical School. They just fell in love with Brown and so have I. I really hope I can join them but I’m going to keep my expectations low since I was rejected as a first year.
Joining this thread a little late. So far I’ve been accepted into Brandeis and Michigan and rejected from Cornell. Also applying to Penn, Dartmouth, Tufts, and JHU.
@matthewjohnlim , Congrats on Brandeis and Mich! Sorry about Cornell! I applied to Cornell too but still didn’t receive a decision? (I was CAS). How’d u end up getting your decision?
@BatWonder77 I received an email with subject “Cornell Decision Notification”. You have to make an account to view the decision (different from the other account to check your application status).
Hmm I didn’t receive one yet. And all the check marks (green ticks) are still on my status account. Isn’t that supposed to go away after a while?
@BatWonder77 According to the Cornell transfer thread, they are sending out decisions in waves, so I wouldn’t worry. Apparently, later waves have a higher acceptance rate than earlier waves (although there is a mix of acceptances and rejections in both). Good luck!
Is anyone else sending any more materials to Brown? I’m thinking about adding an updated letter of recommendation from a professor of a department relevant to the major I applied for. I’m not sure if it would help my case since it’s so close to decisions time, but my grades and extracurriculars have changed (hopefully for the better) since I submitted my application. :-/
@matthewjohnlim where did you read that later waves have a higher acceptance rate?
@CudleWudles , probably from the cornell transfers thread. Am I right @matthewjohnlim ??
@BatWonder77 @CudleWudles Yeah, just repeating what I read in the Cornell transfer thread.
So…did Brown specify a specific date as to when decisions are being released?
