So its def for sure if you didn’t get accepted today, you will most likely be rejected or waitlisted?
Any in state cs accepted yet ?
Any information about CS major? or other engineering majors?
@Petercalpoly the only other engineering major i’ve seen in this thread was a senior level transfer. I don’t think i’ve heard anything about engineering transfers aside from that.
Got in to UC Santa Cruz(TAG) and Slo
so far. I’m leaning towards slo. Anyone have an opinion on which school is better?
New here! I was accepted earlier today with what seems to be the majority of transfers. My question is when are we going to receive the acceptance email/letter? Also, when my sisters were accepted (one last year and one in 2011) they were able to log in their portal and view a congratulatory video. Did that change this year or did it pop up for anyone?
I’ll be majoring in Philosophy btw. 3.47 GPA with IGETC done and AA-T in Philosophy done after Spring.
@UCorDie Im in the same exact situation haha. But I’m waiting on Berkeley though, I applied for Haas. I’ll probably end up at Santa Cruz or UCSB because its a UC.
Lmao trade spots for the video… I don’t know where it is and I’m pissed because I saw it last year and now it’s not there.
@HSCalPoly2 I am a Sociology major. I still show no determination. I hope it doesn’t mean that we are out. @ccosmica what were your stats if you don’t mind me asking?
@ccosmica nevermind. I just saw your previous comment. Congrats on the acceptance!
@joogman23 I am also waiting on Berkeley as well as ucla, ucsd, ucsb, and usc. All of which I think I would choose over slo. Good luck with future admissions.
does anyone when when to send transcripts in… Still haven’t recieved an email.
@UCorDie @joogman23 so, just my personal opinion on UCs … They have incredible reputations and some of them deserve them and some of them do not., especially when you consider specific majors. Don’t just pick a UC because it’s a UC, pick your school based on your department AND what you want out of your undergrad. UC classes are huge, and they are rarely entirely taught by the professor. Cal Poly is smaller, as are private schools. I’ve taken some classes at UCSB and was really not impressed/engaged. I got WAY more out of my CC classes. I’m waiting to hear back from Berkeley and UCLA as well, but I’m almost positive I will choose cal poly (for a multitude of reasons, 70% because my boyfriend goes there) but also because I want to be hands on, in my major, getting to know my professors and my school. You can’t really do that at a UC.
Also @UCorDie when it comes to statistics, Cal Poly is a much better school than UC Santa Cruz. Compare the jobs graduates are being placed in, salary, and test scores. Cal Poly is often not placed in the same category as UCs because it is a state school. Compare average GPAs of acceptances for both regular decision and transfer students. Cal Poly’s are much higher.
civil engineering transfer here, no word yet.
I will take my talents and skills to San Luis Obispo this Fall for Finance. @sb1993
@joogman23 If no determination has still been made is it safe to say that you didn’t get in?
@mnewman I would say so based off of the previous thread from last year. I’m sorry.
Just wanted to add that I had a friend get in for Mechanical Engineering and another for Biomedical engineering yesterday. Both were transfers from Cuesta. The gpas were 3.7 and 3.5 respectively.
Also I had friends last year who didn’t get accepted until late. So don’t give up.
I just talked to a previous transfer student who’s my roommates friend and she told me she found out last year about 2-3 weeks later than everyone else. She was about to give up on CP and already had things lined up for another school when she got the acceptance. So I have a little hope now (: you never know.
@civilmechanical @HSCalPoly2
hopefully the results comes soon for those of us who are still waiting!
thanks for giving some hope!
