Yeah I don’t want to completely rule out CP based on this site. I’m going to talk to my counselor here at Cuesta who knows the admissions process pretty well and see what she says.
@HSCalPoly2 can you let us know what he/she says after? Im with you on not ruling it out I know people who got in 2 weeks later last year also as transfers
CS major, still no determination…
I talked to a counselor in the Transfer Center here at Cuesta and she told me not to worry (: She said I shouldn’t believe everything I hear and that the whole acceptance process doesn’t get done in one day. Also that I could hear back from now until the next couple of weeks. She’s been here for years so I think I’m going to trust her on this. Hope this helps anyone else!
Thank you! Your post helps a lot!
Hello all,
New member here, but I wanted to post some information in direct contradiction to what joogman23 is leading people to believe. I just got off the phone with Cal Poly Admissions and they said they are still in the process of making admissions decisions (including Business). Decisions will be made through March, with the latest possible decisions being posted by April 1st (although the admissions officer did say that she hoped it would be done before that). Also, on the portal it will let you know if you are accepted or rejected.
My stats are California CC Junior Transfer - all business pre-req coursework and CSU breadth coursework (including US History requirement) completed Summer 2014 with a gpa of 3.56.
It is just bothersome to me that someone would claim to know the exact formula and calculation of the admissions qualifications of the thousands of students applying for acceptance. I’ve also done all the research on the different factors which help you amass points in order to gain acceptance and have spoken to admissions officers at length about the necessary qualifications. The one thing they all stressed was that having all your coursework completed prior to applying gave you the highest priority for admission when considering your application.
I just wanted to post this information because I think it’s irresponsbile of someone to say they have inside information and have it effect people’s emotions. The admissions process is stressful enough without people posting false, or at least partially inaccurate information in order to seem like an authority. joogman23 if you have anything to refute what I’m saying please feel free, otherwise, unless you’re on the admissions staff please stop telling people they are accepted or rejected based on some superior knowledge you claim to have.
Nonetheless, I congratulate you on your acceptance, and hope you get into Haas as well.
Otherwise, good Luck to everyone!
Like I said before @joogman23 is a phony liar…
I also just talked to the admissions office and the guy I talked to said threads like this is getting them a lot of annoying calls and that a lot of the information were reading is causing all of us prospective students to get worked up over nothing lol He also said results within the next two weeks will come out like the post above.
@waffo99 why do I need to lie? You’re a moron for believing admissions, they give you that answer so you can leave them alone. They are the ones giving you false hope. You really believe the people you talk to on the phone? Go ahead and call and ask a perplex question, I can guarantee you’ll get two different answers. I don’t need to prove crap to any of you. I know what I know, and If you guys don’t believe it then I don’t care. Decisions have been posted.
Are you saying all decisions have been posted as of yesterday and no more decisions of acceptances will be made?
Well if you guys would actually read last years thread… It indicates that NO ONE ELSE except for that one Thursday and Friday got accepted after that. READ IT. Don’t be oblivious and ask these questions when you guys already know the answers.
And when did I ever say I worked for admissions… I told you my opinions. The information I get is from Admissions by CALLING THEM.
sorry @joogman23 , i didn’t see you first post correctly, that was my fault.
Great - just want clarification on your opinion. Thanks. You make some strong statements so its fair to ask for further clarification. Easy Cowboy
I never said you worked for admissions, and I did reiterate this was your opinion. I’ve read the posts and as someone else posted, they did call Admissions - which you debunked but then said to call Admissions. What’s your point exactly?
Yeah @justin7473 @ashleylinh
I’ve been nothing but helpful on this thread. And I’ve been nothing but honest trying to help out people. Time has come to throw in the towel, later guys.
I didn’t say you weren’t honest or you weren’t helpful. Why so defensive to clarify your statement?
So j23,
It’s not possible that last year and this year could be different? Also, how do you know what you know? I’ve read your posts and you supposedly help people get into schools. What company/school do you work for?
Also, how many people posted last year, compared to how many were accepted? I think it’s safe to assume that the entire incoming class did not post on this site, making your reasoning and ratio skewed.
Lastly, you say we shouldn’t trust calling admissions, yet in the following post you state this is where you get all your information from. That is indeed perplexing and contradictory.
Please feel free to comment/clarify on any of my above points/questions.
Thanks
@Caroo25 , what are your stats? I am thinking about transferring in two years, and trying to see how i am stacking up, 4.0 so far.
I also find it interesting that when someone questions your credibility you choose to leave rather than substantiate your claims. Usually that means the person wasn’t representing themselves truthfully, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong.
Leave the guy alone. @joogman23 has been nothing but helpful to all of us. Thank you for letting us know that decisions have been posted and telling us your opinions. Congrats on Cal Poly, it’s an awesome school!!
