**official cal poly slo 2014-2015 transfer decisions**

does anyone know whether one can determine where they are on the waitlist?

I wrote to advising and asked that question, and also if the transfer and freshman wait lists are separate. Here is the answer I received.

Historically, we have not been able to admit many from our waitlist as we
are 100% impacted in all of our majors.

As a transfer applicant it is a challenge because they can go up until July
15 before they know of their decision. We encourage all of our waitlisted
applicants to explore all other academic opportunities as we cannot
guarantee admission.

Accepted on Wednesday
Major Business
GPA 3.73
All GE’s and Pre Major Classes done.

Where does everyone plan on living next fall?

@nicolexo23 congrats on your acceptance! If you don’t mind me asking… Did you get accepted via the portal the other day for sure? Or did you just receive an e-mail Wednesday?

Congrats @nicolexo23 - that is so exciting! Thank you @statsmom‌ for that piece of intel. I guess the key is how many accept and met their conditional requirements. It’s true that more accept than they anticipate/project every year. Holding out hope for those waiting on those waitlists, my daughters friend is one of those. Hang in there!

@iambatmanshh‌ have you heard yet?

accepted last monday as an Electrical Engineer major
GPA: 3.7
assist: almost done (support electives not completed)
IGETC: done

Anybody going to polycultural weekend?

@GED2Degree‌ I got alerted through an email and then it updated in my portal that I was accepted!! Good luck:)

@isaiahahhhchuu‌ I applied to attend but I’m on the waitlist

Hey everyone! Good luck on all those on the waitlist and those waiting to hear back. Don’t lose hope!

Can anybody tell me how housing priority works? Apparently those with AAT who applied to SDSU won’t be hearing back until early April. I’m pretty sure by now that I’m choosing Cal Poly over SDSU, however knowing of acceptance would definitely help. I’m worried about waiting because I hear housing is first come first serve.
How does this wok exactly? Is the housing portal already open to those who have accepted Cal Polys offer? Are spots filling up as I’m waiting to hear back from other colleges? I’m trying to get into the student apartments so I’m really worried about housing filling up!

Nope

@tessanicole‌ I applied to SDSU as well and have not heard anything back from them. The housing portal for transfer students opens on Wednesday for Cal Poly. I’m trying to get into the PCV apartments as well. Do you know anyone who is transferring?

@nicolexo23 ahh! thats so soon! lol, I guess what I’m really wondering is just how fast they fill up. Like, do I need to apply right away to secure a spot, or do a lot of people wait for awhile? Who knows.
Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone transferring

@tessanicole‌ I heard it fills up super fast, so you have to apply as soon as possible! I don’t know anyone else transferring either :frowning: I got accepted to SDSU today… Did you hear from them?

@nicolexo23 I am applying today! I got an email from SDSU telling me I wouldn’t get an admission decision until early April, which doesn’t really matter because I just accepted Cal Polys offer moments ago  :-SS

P.s. the housing portal webpage won’t show up, I’m assuming either because I just barely accepted the offer or because so many people are on there :frowning:

Has anyone who has been wait listed received the survey yet?

Okay, so I’ve submitted my housing application but I’m a little confused about the payment on a first come first serve basis. Basically paying the $1125.00 ASAP is the best way to insure you a place in housing?
Also, I applied for a private room & I was thinking of finding someone also putting a private room who I could list as my roommate just in case I don’t get the single because being randomly assigned scares me. Will listing a roommate diminish my chances of getting a single room?

So I believe they are handing out rejections now. I viewed my portal at 3:25pm and it said, “Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your application for admission to Cal Poly. We regret we are unable to offer you admission due to the extremely limited number of openings available.”

I expected this because I was lacking the state school requirement of taking a speech comms class and I believe I was missing also 1 major prep. I have myself set for the UC’s, according to all their requirements listed. Chances seem promising with their holistic review to attend UCLA or UCSB. Cal Poly was the only CSU I applied to as they are the # 1 CSU. On a separate note, the application is horribly structured for CSUs compared to UC app. Nonetheless Cal Poly SLO is amazing, congrats to all admitted!

Here’s my stats:
Major: Sociology
GPA: 3.63
Major Prep: All done but 1
Everything else done; Volunteer work- Good, Worked a lot, IGETC completed
