**official cal poly slo 2014-2015 transfer decisions**

So a bunch of regular decision freshman were hearing back at like 9pm tonight, so I’m assuming they will all hear first , and then we will probably hear back next week? It looks like we are about a week or two behind where they were on acceptances last year.

@dabay77m‌ as long as you completed IGETC, and desired major prep before applying, that will boost your chances completely. Any classes that you had in progress and planned for fall and spring will not matter because I’m assuming the classes that you are taking now aren’t apart of your igetc or major prep. I hope that makes sense

@sb1993‌ your guess is as good as mine right now.

Anyone else’s portal down right now?

Yep . Mine is as well

Me three

@joogman23 How important is it for transfers to take the desired courses indicated on this page?: http://admissions.calpoly.edu/applicants/transfer/criteria/ang.html

I’m an anthropology and geography transfer from Moorpark College, with a 3.78 GPA when the app was submitted, with IGETC, required major prep, and an AA-T in geography all completed by Fall 2014. I did not, however, take the two desired courses. What are my chances?

Also good luck to everyone. Seems like next week could be it for a lot of us!

Mine is also down!

@woolysquids‌ In my opinion, you should have a good shot. You’ve done the best you can. All you can do now is wait. You have good stats and most of the courses completed besides two. You should be good, I wouldn’t worry. And that major isnt as competitive as others are.

@joogman23‌ Any information about international transfer students would be appreciated.

@joogman23 Would you be willing to chance me as well? I’m a Sociology transfer from Moorpark College also. I had a 3.95 GPA at the time of my application, and I finished all of my IGETC/major prep, and received my Associate Degree for Transfer in December 2014. The transfer criteria on this site lists 3 desired courses: one of them (International Political Economy) not articulated at my college; one of them I completed - GE area C course (music appreciation should count?); and the other is an area B4 Mathematics/Statistics course (I took statistics - but this class probably cannot double-count for the following STAT 217 course, so that might not count for me).

@joogman23 Thanks for all of your help here by the way!

@ccosmica‌ @vulcatim‌ for international students, I do not have any information on them. You might want to contact Admissions or hang tight until decisions roll out.

With a transfer degree you should be well in. Your stats are very impressive. Socio is a popular major though. If you have put everything to be done on your Supp. Application then you should be good. look over IGETC and see what classes you are left with. If you are in need of 2-3 classes all together with major prep I would say you are in the clear. Your only competition is people with your stats or better and that is hard to find because not that many have your stats.

Took at look at this. You might be in the Service Area which will give you priority into SLO.

@joogman23 can you chance me too?
Cuesta college, Business
3.99 GPA
Most classes completed through AP classes or while I was in HS. However, this fall I had statistics, financial accounting, and business law in progress. And this spring I am taking managerial accounting and critical thinking. I will get an AS-T degree this spring. All IGETC and major prep will be completed after this semester.

@joogman23 how much do you know about the psych department? Is it a very popular transfer major and is it competitive? I have a great GPA and everything is finished but I have nothing to compare myself to because they don’t list average GPAs for psych on the website

@Surfergirl22‌ To be more specific, could you list the classes that you have not completed before you applied to SLO. Include the IGETC classes as well that are in progress and which sections you are missing apart of the IGETC. Sorry but it will help. And what did you put for both of your parents education? Did you apply with a 3.99?

@sb1993‌ I don’t know much. all majors are impacted so they are all highly selective. And because they don’t show the student profile of who is applying, that is why I’m asking everyone to post their stats and major so majors like yourself could compare to the major you applied for.

@joogman23 Classes I did not have complete for major prep were financial accounting, managerial accounting, statistics, and business law. The only IGETC I did not have completed was critical thinking (A3). I applied with 3.99. My parents education was some high school.

@Surfergirl22‌ you should be cautiously optimistic at this point. congrats #sleep

@Surfergirl22‌ Hey Surfer I’m in a similar situation as you. I’m a one year transfer as well. I have most credit from 7 AP exams. I applied with a 4.0 but that only reflects two summer courses, as the rest of IGETC and major prep was set for this fall and spring. I’m curious as to how u got a 3.99? That sort of GPA usually requires a lot of units as .01 is a very very small deduction from 4.0. Applied business admin - finance.
