****official cal poly slo class of 2018 decisions****

@jmarvis , I checked my portal and that is under my to-do list. So they are basically asking for our first semester grades

Considering that they enroll around 187 civil engineers each year, dis that mean that they will release around 550 civil engineers? That would be 30% which is the yield rate

probably.

@eddie2896 Oh, that makes sense. Thank you!

@czs1994 do you know if extra pts are awarded for major-related classes?

@TSchaser not to my knowledge. I am here as I really feel for you. My son was confident he would get in, luckily he had over 75% scores etc., but it was still so hard to wait. Cal Poly is not easy, quarters are FAST, but you really learn and have the opportunity to take so many more classes on a quarter system. It is truly a school for those who want a very good education. Is it a party school? All schools have partiers, but honestly if an education is your goal you won’t go crazy. Remember just a few weeks after you step foot on campus you will be taking your first midterms. So many freshmen want to have fun that the dig themselves in a hole their first quarter and it is hard to get out of it. But if you want to learn, if you want to know your professors by first name, if you want a challenge, then Cal Poly is for you. Mine gave up a Regents for Cal Poly and has never had a second thought. I hope those of you with a true calling to Cal Poly do get in. If you want to go to party and hang out at the beach, and don’t think they are serious about needing to study 25-35 hours a week, do yourself a favor and pick a different college.

Does anyone know approximately how many Computer Science spots are open for incoming freshman? I would appreciate any feedback:).

@justin7473 all I can say is I would send your ACT, from all I know about CP they really look at the ACT. I think if you took it, why not send them everything.

Is it too late to send? @joyful1

nah justin, think jan 15 was the last time to adjust stuff on ur app
