still waiting for BME

@bunnie Did you apply to any UC’s or any private schools? Your stats will get you in a competitive UC.

What was your Math+Critical Reading?

Still waiting BME

Just wondering, has anyone been rejected for engineering yet? Or are the three status right now just, “Accepted”,“Wait listed” or “No decision has been made”?

@srjcengineer, do you go to Santa Rosa junior college? By your name i think you do and if i get rejected this time by cal poly, would you recommend going there? I heard it was really good and i have family there

@justin7473 Yeah, I do currently attend Santa Rosa junior college. Also, yes I would reccomend going there (although if you get in somewhere else then consider going there or transfer later). Its not as social as one would like but, it is a commuter school, so there’s that. One good benefit of going to SRJC is that it was designed as a feeder school for UC Berkeley so all of the classes are mirrored after the ones there, which makes transferring the Berkeley that much easier (provided you have the GPA). Probably one of the most rigorous JCs in California.

So are acceptances still being sent out? Or is it only waitlisted students now?
I’m waiting to hear if I’ve been accepted into Cal Poly’s English program and I’m freaking out!
My GPA is a 4.1 weighted and I have an 1830 on my SAT. If anyone has heard back for english, please let me know.

@whitenoise44 acceptances are still coming, should be until the end of the week.

Accepted mech e uw gpa 3.1 w 3.5 sat 1900 from bay area. One ap class. Found out today

I have a friend 3.9weighted 1800 sat got into for comp sci. Took 4 ap classes. He got accepted on the 28th

Good luck everyone!

^
^ Saw that and my face lit up lol. Then I checked it and found nothing.

Still waiting on my MechE decision.

Encourage news from 123ffrr345, who was accepted to ME with an average stats. At the same time, I have seen much much better stats on the waiting.
Any possible that SLO admission is playing the roulette game to select applicants? That is the only reason to justify for the long elapsed time that take them to scattered decisions. And when this admission job is done, they might reward themselves trip to Vegas, where they could play the real game.

In regards to having a lower gpa, some schools inflate grades and colleges know this. Perhaps 123ffrr345 went to a harder high school where the non ap classes are very difficult, or has a very impressive math program (which cal poly loves)

Agreed that GPA could be inflated from schools to schools. But the SAT/ACT, which is the national test could not lie.
If you look at previous posts, so many GPA 4+ (could be inflated) plus SAT 2100+ are in the waiting line.

Thinking must be in the 35% non regular MCA group or have lost my faith in the non subjective acceptance system which would not even look at difficulty of various programs. It must be so frustrating for those with much higher stats, who I believe are not being told anything as they may be in that bubble that is real close to the cut off point and they are waiting for some replies to see if they can give you an answer. Good luck all, try not to stress as it really does seem as if it all works out. I know of so many kids who didn’t get their first choice and love where they are and can’t consider being anywhere else. This includes some at SLO.

I have no doubt that SLO admissions is very informed about the relative strength and weaknesses of CA high schools and how kids from those schools tend to perform at SLO. That is the part you cannot see when prospective students are listing their GPAs.

@123ffrr345 you seem to be the first mechE! Congrats! I have a 4.4 weighted because I’ve been enrolled at my local university Junior and Senior Year, and have taken some engineering courses at my high school. I am waiting and waiting to find out! Was this your top choice?

@whitenoise44, my son was accepted as an English major in the first wave. GPA about the same as yours, but SATs a bit higher (2030). I wouldn’t panic though, it seems like admissions are still trickling out…
