Sad - in-state and have 3.8 csu gpa, 33 act, max bonus points (however no ‘pity’ points) and still no determination for Mechanical Engineering. Hope thats not bad news!
@stressed4lyfe I found out at 6:40 pm
does business usually come out last
@Sirlaz, I’m not a big chance me guy, but rather I tend to help candidates figure out how they might be able to strengthen their applications while they can still impact them. With that said, you are right at the Bschool ACT average for last year. Your GPA will net you 139 MCA points than last year’s average, 3.98. Out of a 5000 point algorithm, that doesn’t seem like a big deficit from the 50th percentile. Remember even the 0.5th percentile gets in. Now it’s just a matter of MCA points from rigor and ECs. If you took math through calculus along with lots of English and lab science that will help a lot. ECs and job, especially with leadership or working in a job related to your major help a little. There’s also a boost if you live in the Poly catchment area, if either or both of your parents didn’t finish HS, if you went to a Hayden Partner School or if a family member works at Poly. So, not a slam dunk, but certainly don’t write off your chances.
As for college classes, it depends. They don’t strengthen your application per se. If they were separate college level classes, Poly will count a college semester as a HS year, so you could get more rigor points even if you didn’t have the maximum HS semesters. If they were dual enrollment, then they don’t count any differently than regular HS credits. They will help once you’re accepted though. As college credit, they’ll count more than AP credit.
Good luck.
In-state mechanical engineering.
Portal got updated between 6:00 and 7:00 PM today.
In-state CS, still no determination ;(
Could acceptances in mechanical be alphabetical by last name? @steventocollege and other mechanical accepted, Whats the first letter of your last names?

this wait for mech e is killing me…
In-State, Mechanical Engineering, Accepted.
Last checked the portal at 7pm and no decision had been made. Had to go somewhere and just returned about 10 minutes ago and checked the portal just for the hell of it. I was pretty sure the status would be the same. But I could not believe I was reading the tiny font “Congratulations…”
Anyhow, here are the stats:
CSU GPA 4.04
SAT 2280
14 APs by end of 12th grade
12 semesters of math. Currently taking AP Statistics.
Only two extra curricular activities but leadership positions on both, so many hours since 9th grade. Maxed volunteer hours because I’m a math tutor and I have tutored kids for free since 9th grade. Few work hours as a camp counselor and tennis coach.
No extra points for anything else.
Does no response mean no admission?
In state mech-e applicant, last name starts with R.
4.33 GPA, 29 ACT 1840 SAT, lots of work hours, an internship, some volunteer, maxed out on AP classes for my school
Any ideas?

For those who haven’t seen an email, check your spam files.
Out of general curiosity, does anyone have numbers on statistics for the entire pool of applicants? As in, what the average GPA is for everyone who applied to engineering, not just those who got admitted.
@bluwho Did you have any extra curriculars or work experience?
how many people have heard from computer science?, I’m still waiting,
@muhnigmofo im still waiting for cs but kind of gave up hope…
Congrats to everyone who got in! And to those of you who haven’t heard back yet, remember this is just this first week and acceptances will go out even through march so don’t jump to conclusions just yet. And I recommend taking a break from checking the portal - i’d say just check once a day so you don’t stress out as much about it (i was going crazy until i stopped except for once or twice a day for ED) . Good luck everyone!
