**Official Class of 2011 Regular Decision Thread**

:-( I was pulling for you cowtipper :-/

oh well...waitlisted

waitlisted at UPenn too. rejected at harvard and dartmouth.

and cornell, of course, has the broken servers.

i love brown so much...

Accepted! Stats In Previous Posts =]

Sorry, I'm bad with the tags.

WAITLISTED
SAT I: 2290 (800 CR/780 M/710 WR)
SAT II: 2320 (780 US/770 LIT/770 MII)
GPA: 3.82 unw/4.41 w
RANK: 14/768
AP'S: 4 5'S, plus 5 more this year and Calc III
Extras: The killer for my apps, probably. Only average or worse for the Ivies. Spent my time with Clarinet, German and Youth and Government, only a couple of awards and leadership postitions. Some more academic awards, but nothing really special.

Thoughts: I'm accepting a place. This was...not the afternoon that I hoped for, (2 rejections and 2 waitlists), but I am a resilient person, and I am sitting here with 4 outright acceptances, including such excellent options as NYU (with scholarship!!), Carleton, and Wellesley. I'll be going to an excellent school next year, and I know that my value as a person goes far beyond these schools.

i don't know why but i started to like BROWN... Maybe it is because of the acception letter... Hahaayyyttt sefam olsun oh oh!!! davsan avi baslasin!!!

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I'm apparently the first non-recruited student to get into Brown from my school in a few years now, so I'm EXTREMELEY happy, especially since I didn't really consider Brown all too much because of that. Ready to visit sometime the next month. Congrats to all the others that got in and best of luck to those that got rejected - hope you guys get into other schools that you'll love!

Rejected :( Got into NYU Stern though

rejected....
congrats to everyone else

ed accepted but so far 5 from my school have been accepted

Meh, rejected, but after deferral, I wasn't really expecting anything. Plus, I'm into two schools that I love, one of which offered me a special honors program that only goes to 5% of the student body.

Decision: Rejected

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] ECs listed on app: art, prez of clubs, some other stuff
[] Job/Work Experience: None
[] Essays (subject and responses): Pretty long...like 900 words...I liked it...for the Why Brown? most people I've seen say their's are really good and everything, which made me nervous because I put pretty much the first thing that came to mind and turned out VERY straightforward (practically bulleted reasons for applying)...I don't really see how you could be all lyrical and poetic but maybe you can I dunno
[] Teacher Recs: one "one of the best," other didn't read
[] Counselor Rec: seriously our school does counselor stuff horribly! I wasn't even aware that counselor's played any role in you getting into a school...never met her until this year and only like twice

[li] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: I dunno...WHY?![/li][/ul]Other Factors: extra letter of rec from art teacher, supplemental fine art slides
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I was so nervous clicking on the button thing! I seriously waited a whole hour in front of my computer for the decision and then it came and i was floored!! I know I haven't posted much, but this seems kinda cool showing your stats and probably helps other kids applying later...THIS IS INSANE!!!
