To everyone who been deferred/rejected from a current BC freshman:
please remember that although the stats posted here are helpful as a benchmark, it is only a very small sample of the 2200 plus applicants who got EA accepted - and over 7,000 applied. So you think you are better than some who were admitted EA? you may or may not be correct if you are basing it on what is posted on CC. Some people have the wildcard that BC is looking for, like class rank, diversity, interesting, building the class, passionate about learning - whatever it is. I am so impressed by the stats everyone has posted. If you are deferred: I know lots of people at BC today who got in from that list. Work hard and keep up that GPA, have your counselor write and tell BC how awesome you are. If you were rejected, I know it's tough, but you are all so bright you will be in a great school in the fall - you are among the best students in the country. College admissions can best be described as a crapshoot at this point. Good Luck to all.

question - i'm posting this for a friend.... she applied EA and still hasn't heard anything. (we're in the bay area over in california.) someone else from our school got accepted ea to BC already. does this mean anything other than her mail is slow? (i am an NYU ED-er and rejections came later than acceptances, for example.) did you guys determine whether logging on to agora and seeing the "financial aid" thing means anything? thanks.

salamander...I give you a lot of credit for your essay topic and I want to assure you that it did not hurt your chances of admission. BC is a very supportive environment, despite its Catholic heritage. One of my roommates was lesbian and she had a fabulous BC experience. I don't have much to say besides that, I just wanted you to know that it took a lot of guts to write about your coming out and the admissions committee will be more impressed by it than turned off by it.
