When they say to retake and get a higher score, they are asking you to demonstrate how badly you want to get accepted. They want to see some commitment. Just improving by a point or two probably would have got you in. They asked for a retake of another poster in this forum this month who had very similar stats to yours and was also from the Chicago area. They are not going through the trouble of recalculating your gpa in January when they have 35,000 applications to process. Mathematically, how much could your cumulative gpa possibly improve by anyway this late in your hs career? Its easy to compare a new ACT score to the old one, though.

really good ec’s, although, it doesnt really matter when you are applying to iu

■■■■■■■■ ftw, IM PLANNING ON GOING SOMEWHERE BETTER

^ That’s funny. Your GPA is lower than IU’s average GPA for freshmen…

I just sent in my 31 ACT, so we’ll see. I don’t know if I’ll get it since I don’t meet the GPA requirements. But thanks for the input

Sorry, I overlooked your gpa. Maybe it might help for something else other than the automatic scholarship.

i go to an extremely competitive school, and there was no doubt in my mind that i would get into indiana. it is the easiest school that i am applying to. Also, i got a 3.9 last year and i have a 4.2 this semester and have really good ec’s. And btw, my sat scores are in the top 25% of first year students. I plan on going to a college where i fall in the middle 50% or below, because i am rich and i dont need an financial aid, so suck on that.

sproosepti, definitely apply to the Hudson Holland Scholars Program.
