Qwertybbq can you post a picture of said email.

Can we apply to the honors program? I thought we had to be nominated or something

@jnthorne I am! Are those not the weirdest essay prompts you’ve ever seen (if you’ve started on them)?

Can you automatically just apply if you get in or are there some requirements?

Apply to honors if you get into michigan*

So are they coming out tomorrow?

I’ll post a picture when I get home at around 5 pm est

@erindolan That’s what I am guessing. But nothing set in stone just yet.

I want to go into politics, so I chose the one about entrepreneurialism. But some of them were way out there…

Its probably just that different people have different knowledge of what is actually going on. I bet they plan on releasing them tomorrow, but haven’t made it official because they want to just keep all their bases covered…

This is so drawn out

I think it’s important to remember that this school is massive. It’s larger than many cities. It is a huge bureaucracy. It’s a great school, and this isn’t a slam on it, but it is huge and it is a bureaucracy. If there are truly 30K kids applying EA this year, that is a lot of applications to read and go through. As an aside, they downloaded my son’s “Optional School Report” from the common app on Dec. 14. While I doubt that would be a “make or break” kind of thing, it would have included his first trimester grades and that could trigger an additional reading of the application either way. I’d bet a lot of kids have had similar additional reports submitted in the past week as trimesters or terms have ended.

Also, as some have pointed out, if they can eliminate the kids accepted ED somewhere else from their pool of applicants, that could tip the scales in favor of some applicants who may have been deferred otherwise!

Stay positive :)

Thanks Barnardmom…As someone for whom Michigan is a top choice, i needed to hear that. There are lots of high achieving kids at my westchester, ny school who used Michigan not as a safety but as a back-up to their ED or SCEA/Ea schools. Many have gotten into their first choice and I’m just hoping that they’ve contacted Michigan to let them know. I’d really love to attend this school.

How do we checking they downloaded the optional school report?

When you look at the common app, click on the school and click on the section that says Assign Recommenders. It gives a status by each thing- started, submitted or downloaded.

Don’t know if anyone care or wants to listen. I just got off with admissions and I think this was the first honest person I got. And I quote we don’t know when decisions r going to be released - we can check if all the information is in ur folder - but they do not let us know when decisions will be released - when u know we know! There will be kids who had oroblems with their applications who will not hear until January - if all of ur information was received on time with no glitches u will hear on or before the 24th. They come out in waves - everyone will be told via email - in other words it’s a crap shoot -

That’s is what I heard from a reliable source who knows someone close to the process in Ann Arbor. This is due to problems with the app process… common app, naviance, etc.
I sincerely suggest that we all go live life for the next five days off of this forum! I heard they are struggling right now :(

All those who answer the phone and live chat are work study students. They are NOT involved in the admission process. They are given specific instructions to answer certain questions. So, everyone quit calling them and just sit and relax. You will get when the decisions are ready.

To everyone who thinks decisions will be released all at once:

My help rep literally said the opposite and then left the chat. What a jerk.
