** Official Class of 2018 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

That may be total applicants, not just ED applications.

Just got an email from some random college…subject was Office of admission…my heart skipped

I’m sure it was

It seems the Application Number 01234567 was issued around 10/15.

My K’s number is just about 12,500 away from that number and app is dated on Oct 31. that can’t possibly mean that over half the applicants applied on the last day, can it? if it does, no wonder they’re behind.

my K’s GC said that U-M got 26,000 EA apps. it will be interesting to see the actual number when it’s announced.

good luck!!!

It’s very well possible. I am over 24,000 away from that number and I applied close to the deadline. A lot of people apply very close to the deadline.

It seems the 32k estimation for EA is reasonable. Around 12k submitted between 10/15 and 10/31. Around 12k submitted around deadline. Plus another ~8k or so submitted before 10/15 (It was at ~500-600 per day in early October.

My friend who is partially homeschooled showed me the email his mom got from uofm saying admissions are coming soon (since she is is counselor) in the email it said 25000 applicants applied early action this year in case anyone was wondering

Guiz pls it’s okay you’re all smart cookies you’re all gonna be accepted
Keep it positive
I’m gonna go do something so hopefully I’ll have some info by the time I get home later (gonna be lurking my inbox tho lol)

I forgot the applications also include RD submitted early.

Just got an email from some random college…subject was Office of admission…my heart skipped

^ So your heart skipped twice within the past 30min? ;)

Hey quick question. If we’re deferred… and our GPA is already high, what else may they be looking for between now and RD decision time. Do they REALLY JUST want to compare you to the RD pool? Or are there other things they’re looking for (like a better SAT score or something) if it’s not a better GPA?

Asking because looking back at previous year threads it doesn’t seem like they reject many people in this round.

4.02 W GPA, 2020 SAT, 4 on AP Lang Exam…7 APs total including senior year…I know it’s kind of a reach but do I have a shot? Can it go either way? Applying for LSA btw and really felt good about my essays + GREAT counselor rec…never read Teacher Rec but assume it benefits my app.

My issue is that I took a computer networking course that ate a lot of my schedule. My scores are great and my GPA is fine, but I don’t have many APs. Hopefully the engineering admissions people will see that I devoted 6 credits to my intended major and cut me some slack.

GPA UW: 3.83

SAT: 2320

APs: 2

But, I’ve got a CCENT certification so that’s proof that I at least somewhat know what I’m doing with networking. Rumor is, there’s a 5% pass rate.

@Brifes Instate I presume? Yes you have a shot. LSA average SAT is about 2100, and instate average would be lower to balance oos people. How about unweighted GPA?

@tetrisdeity My school doesn’t calculate UW. I’ve tried to do it myself but it’s kind of difficult with the different marking periods of health/gym/drivers ed and how they work in. Thanks for the response! :)

@pillagerguy Exact same SATs and major too! Computer science, right?

Yeah, and electrical engineering. Hope we both get in (but mostly me, heh)

Guys! Anyone got any replies yet?
