Official Class of 2021 Northeastern University Early Decision/Early Action Discussion

@lolonimous

Dang it! Should read sort of rolling for RD.

@TomSrOfBoston For the random “likely letter” you mentioned seeing in the past - was that before RD came out or EA?

@suzyQ7 It was both last year. Applicants started posting here on CC asking what it meant.

Hi guys! I’m an international student and I’ve sent my EA application to Northeastern University for the Finance major at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business. My NU Applicant Status Check says that I will receive my admissions decision by the December 31st. I know that it’s likely that many students will get their decisions before the 31st. Would anybody know around what dates will most of the admissions decisions be released?

I think last year and the year before EA got decisions back around Dec 15 @Suj170499

Last year, EA students were notified on 16/12 (at least DD was).

(12/16 for the American folk wondering what the 16th month of the year is like I did for a split second)

Did anybody on the thread already fill out the CSS profile? They require it earlier than anybody else!

For anyone who gets admitted to nu in don’t automatically dismiss it. My son was admittedl through that program last year and was less than thrilled. He decided to go for it and is currently having the time of his life in Greece. He has made great friends, traveled Europe and is enjoying his classes.
I know the thought of going abroad first semester can be daunting but the experience has really stretched him and has changed him in a good way. He is so much more independent and confident.
Just my two cents in the topic.

@tula32 I filled it out a couple of weeks ago.

My friend’s son also did the semester abroad his freshman first semester, he was in Australia and loved it! My daughter applied EA and we are hoping to hear something within a few weeks. She opted as well for the option to be abroad as a freshman based on our friend’s experience.

If admitted to first semester abroad, can one still defer admission and take a gap year?

My test scores don’t seem to show up in my application, but I received a confirmation stating that it’s been delivered. Should I be worried? Well, I am but any idea regarding why this is happening?

@tula32 that would be a question for the admissions office. If a deferral were granted, the fall semester 2018 would still be dome abroad through NUIn.

@Shreya18 I emailed Northeastern with the same question and they replied saying that international applicants dont need SAT/ACT and therefore it does not show up in the portal. Hope this answers your question.

Does northeastern need the fafsa AND CSS profile? Or do we just do one?

@c011e9e Northeastern requires both FAFSA and CSS.

Really? I had no idea about this. Thank you so much!
What are the admissions criteria for international students then?

can someone give me the exact date in which ED decisions are released? also, how do you choose your classes if you are undecided?
