If you do not like urban living you may not be comfortable at Northeastern. For an urban campus it is fairly well defined.
Here is a student drone video of the central and west campus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQSHCjnSL6U&t=50s
I think it was filmed at 6 AM on a Sunday morning. I’ve never seen Huntington Avenue so empty.
I will repost this since I sort of botched the last repost:
Since Northeastern is changing things up this year the EA decisions may come out this Thursday. In the past EA and RD decisions start to be released starting at 3 or 4 PM Eastern time and take 4 or 5 hours to be completed. They are released geographically starting in Massachusetts and moving south then west. Decisions have never been released before 3 PM your local time.
You will receive a generic email that links to your decision page. If you received honors it will be stated in your decision letter. There will be separate tabs that indicate any merit and need based aid offered. If NU In is offered (and there is some uncertainty about this) it will be stated in the letter.
I strongly urge students to watch this short video. It is produced by a Northeastern student and explains the unique culture at Northeastern due to experiential learning: https://vimeo.com/192828184
And for those not familiar with NU In: https://www.northeastern.edu/nuin/
NU In is a final decision and cannot be changed to September Boston admission.
And if decisions do not come out this Thursday, I give up!!
@DannyPanny lived in IV my freshman year. Completely false rumor that gets spread all the time that it’s harder to make friends. The vast majority of IV freshman really liked it imo and I’m still friends with almost everyone from my floor. The reason it gets that reputation is because there are naturally a handful of people who don’t find their niche right away and they blame it on living in IV. They of course spread this idea to their friends that live outside of IV, and then it becomes widely believed among the other freshmen. The reason non-IV freshman believe it so easily is because the vast majority of people who like IV… find very little reason to leave and socialize in the freshman quad (there are SO many people in IV that it’s really not necessary). So those who don’t live there don’t see that side of the story. Hope that makes sense!
That drone view of the campus is really cool in #668 - it gives a very nice picture and feel for the campus for anyone who can’t visit, beyond the already existing virtual tours and pictures. If you haven’t and read over that, check it out.
Applied EA into their behavioral neuroscience major. Hoping to get in. I have around a 96.28 GPA, which is around a 3.9, and I got a 31 (32 if super-scored) on my ACT. I think I have a pretty decent shot.
Applied EA to Computer Science major. 33 on ACT, 1530 on SAT, 800 on Math II, 720 on Biology, 4.62 GPA… Wondering if i have a chance at Dean’s Scholarship…
