It doesn't seem like we have an official Columbia thread so I decided to create one. (Sorry if there is one X_x).

I'm not sure if this is old news but here is an update i received from Columbia today.

Dear Cherryblossom,

Thank you for your application to Columbia University. We are nearing the end of our application review process and will soon notify students of our admissions decisions.

You can receive your admission decision online. We plan to post all admissions decisions here on Thursday, May 15, 2008, after 5:00pm (Eastern Time).

We are also mailing admissions decisions on Thursday, May 15, 2008, so you will receive an official decision letter by mail as well.

Decision is coming out for sure next week!

thanks for the info. :)

Thanks CherryBlossom, i was trying to search for a columbia transfer thread, but i guess you've got that covered.

I can't wait!

Yep, got the email just a little while ago. That nervous twitch I've developed is new…

yup got that e-mail today too.

same here, we got one thread in another page. Have any of u guys tried to click the "here" in the letter? I think I have forgotten my password.....

I tried and the status link is not available yet..

yeah, it says invalid........

Watch out for Defrasne - he's going to be delirious that you started another Columbia transfer thread. Just sayin.

Yeah... I got that same e-mail... 2 more days... has anyone got accepted anywhere else yet?

Yeah, thankfully to Stanford.

That's awesome Congrats! Luckily if this doesn't work out... I got accepted to Cornell for the Fall... but ah Columbia...

MIT sophomore, 4.7/5.0 gpa, majoring in writing.
just got rejected from brown and am hoping for better news tomorrow!

Sorry bout that oldtobegin.... rejection sucks...

But yeah.. I'm a political science major at St. Thomas University.
GPA: 4.0/4.0
I applied as a political science and minority studies major so we'll see how that goes.
I got a Cornell GT offer last year which was approved for this fall. So if anything I'll become a Cornelian... but wow... Columbia?! Who could resist that?

Oh I'm a freshman too...

dunno, there are some downsides to columbia. i heard there is no unity in the student body at all because everyone just goes out into nyc. it can be hard for a transfer because since there is no unity, everyone has already formed their group of friends.

i've heard from a lot of my friends there that the columbia experience is essentially the NYC experience, so that can be good and bad.

This is so weird. I got swept up in the name craze and really into applying to transfer for Yale and then I was rejected yesterday....and didn't really care all that much. Columbia however is creating burning heap of panic. It's definitely the one I need to get into.

Whats your result sheet on all the ivies looking like, ivy transfer??

terrible as a matter of fact. rejected from all. still waiting on columbia and penn. funny thing is, my adcom says it's likely i'll be accepted. isn't it crazy how admissions work? i get rejected from places that take 80 kids and might be accepted to a place that takes 15 (sophomores anyway, even less juniors). how you coming along undisclosed?

Obscene amounts of eggs. One Basket. Columbia.

I've been ****ing acid for the past day. I don't think any perfect gpa, essay, rec, or achievement is going to make up for my craptacular sats (1800s).

So yeah...pretty bad. Though I only applied to 3 schools (and two of them were stanford/yale).
