i got a email for a interview as well. omg im getting rejected for sure doe. dis is like my biggest reach.

Also going to a large compiled interview date, although mine is a sunday.

The time slot is only 25 minutes which I expect will make things much harder

So cool that many of you like biochem. I really like CU’s Sustainable Development major, thats what i indicated on my app

^ Look on the brighter side, you at least have an interview. And if you can make an impression in those 25 minutes, then great!! :)

“Popular consensus seems to be that if you haven’t been contacted by the beginning of Feb, that’s when you should ask your local alumni committee or whatever.”

Don’t bother the alumni interviewing office! Not everyone gets an interview. Something like half of the students who were admitted (including me) never got interviews. So please, don’t worry if you don’t get one.

Ugh still no confirmation email :/

^ I know how ****ing off that can be!! Got my Cornell ID very very late!
But best option, is to wait. Any email request now and all they will say is - we are processing a large number of applications, please wait.
And if you call them up, they’ll tell you the same thing!!

Wait till early feb and then write/call maybe? Anyway the applicant status page will only be up on feb 14th!!

@ram0276 - Don’t want to add to your concern, but just realized that Columbia have finished processing their applications and posted stats of a 5% increase in applications just yesterday!

So if you don’t get the confirmation within a week, I’d say call/write to them!!

i cant stop thinking about Columbia… even though im pretty sure im not getting in.

I’m right with you. I am pretty sure I won’t get in but I can’t help thinking about it all the time.

Omg why is the decision not here now? I’m dying inside every day because i know that I won’t get in (though I would be over the moon if I did). I just need the confirmation!!! Gaaahh!!

On another note, what’s your favorite thing about Columbia?

Calm down people Go do something productive while you wait for decisions. Won’t be out anytime soon.

studying for math 2 and molecular bio subject tests on saturday… these scores will directly impact admish to SEAS!
favorite thing? this sounds so bizarre, but as an artist, i visualize the school colors; that perfect blue color of the sky on a clear day in manhattan, which on columbia’s campus is not obscured by skyscrapers. yet, you walk down the street and the things offer you a world of opportunity. if this dream were to be realized, i would most enjoy being surrounded by my intelligent and focused peers.

^
Yay, a fellow artist! I too will be studying science while doing some art on the side. I personally loved the campus. I think it was so inviting when I went (summer). Plus, I have always been a city girl so I like the urban setting (seriously, NYC is the best. I’ve probably been there at least ten times). Lastly, I think that Columbia tries to attract lots of cool people with great interests rather than filling the class with people who will be holed up in their rooms studying during their four years of college.

Does anyone know if, when, and how we’re supposed to send them our mid-year reports?

25 minute interview tomorrow!
Hope it goes as well as my Harvard and UChicago interviews did :)

I’m sending my mid-year report via Common App

Good luck to Ragdolls!

Interview tomorrow!! Hope it helps and wish us all the best of luck!!! Columbia is really one of my favorite!

^
Good luck! Hope it goes as well for you as mine did :)
