Yeah, he's obessessive and is certain he can get into Stanford and Harvard. ^_^'' But I'm just photocopying. He wants a different letter per school too.

That seems so inconsiderate, like he thinks his teachers' only priority is to write him a letter than will get him into his colleges.

Hey! That's him on the dot! xD He is inconsiderate. And if he thinks you're competition, he'll constantly ask for your GPA, SAT scores, and anything else. Even if you're not applying to where he is, he wants to know your rank to make sure you're not higher than him.

That's so sad. He seems to live for the ultimate goal of getting into college. <sarcasm>How philosophically deep to base your purpose for living on April 1 letters. </sarcasm> =( Hope you are having luck dealing with people like that!

Can someone translate this paragraph from the Common App FAQ's regarding alternate versions and supplements. D submitted a supplement to one school and will be submitting 2 different common app versions to 7 different schools.
For anyone with experience with the alternate versions can you explain what this means?

"If you elect to have multiple versions of your Common Application, please be sure to submit your supplement using the Common App version with which you want it affiliated. If you have not yet identified which version of the Common App it should be connected to, then you should wait to submit until that time. If you have already submitted a supplement for a particular school, you will not be able to move that already submitted supplement to an alternate version, regardless of whether the application tied to that supplement is submitted."

My question is....Since the "school year report" "mid year report" and "final report" are all so similar when should they all be submitted? at what times and when?

Well, the school year report is submitted as soon as you can. The mid one when the semester grades come out. Or quarter I guess. And the final at the end of the year.

Oh ok so i should submitt the school year report with my common app or w.e to the school (doing everything paper) and then in January when my 1st semester grades are out, i should submit the mid year report to all the schools? and then do i just submit the final to what ever schools accepts me ? or to all the schools again?

and could it be the same councellor filling the info out? is it necessary to submit a "new" evaluation or recommendation? or should the same one be sent in again? or should it just be left out...

The supplement is always attached to a version of the common app. So if you submit a version of the common app to a school, you have to make sure that the supplement to that school is also attached to the same version.

If you haven't submitted the supplements yet, you can switch the version they are attached to. But if you have already submitted the supplement, then you will have to make sure that the common app version it is attached to should be submitted to that same school.

Incidentally, I noticed that the school forms also are attached to a version ( they have the version number at the bottom). Does this mean teachers and counselors cannot photocopy the forms for different schools if you are submitting different versions?

Should a resume be included in the "additional writing section" on the common app, or should it be mailed with the transcript? When they print our application when they receive it, would they be able to read the resume I uploaded?

I just submitted a supplement with the "wrong version" of the application, but I didn't submit the application yet. Can the version be changed??? I contacted tech support, but I have not gotten a reply yet! Has this happened to anyone else?

Nadash: It will say not submitted until the college receives your fee waiver request and approves it. If they do not approve it, they will hold onto your application until they receive the required fee.

Mister Sinister: Most colleges actually ask that you do not include a resume along with the application. When you submit your application, they will download it onto their computers or print it out. When this occurs, the status of the application will change to "Downloaded."

Daisy: You need to contact Customer Service and hopefully they can retract your supplement. Otherwise, once it is submitted, it is final.

When I enter SAT/ACT score, do I just put the scores I want colleges to see or do I put all the test taken? (I know I have to score report from CB separately)

senluck I just put the good stuff
daisy, can you still move that school to a different version? If it's an all-in-one school, the neither the supplement or the app is actually sent until both are done.
