Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2017

On their website it says that if you’re missing anything hell let you know and you have 2 weeks to turn it in. This could be what they mean? Not sure.

The admissions office and financial aid office are completely different, and from what I have gathered, admissions is need blind (unless you are an international student), so I think that would mean that everyone who applied is created a financial aid packet, but only receives it if he/she is accepted?

Oh Gosh, I can’t believe it’s going to be December 13. I’m hoping for a double late birthday present (My b-day is the 12th) for this and it’s the day the cast list will be posted for our high school musical. Yikes! So nervous! All I know is I will be very distracted on my birthday and the 13th until I find out.

It is standard operation procedure to ask for additional FA information. It doesn’t mean one thing or another, Cornell is need blind. FA office want to have all necessary information to figure out FA package for all students because they have very short window to send out FA pacakge for admitted students.

I wish I did! I have a background in food and love love love to bake, and i also am very interested in the science/chemical reactions behind it… Food is so interesting! Alas, I didn’t apply there as an alternate school because I was scared that my first choice wouldn’t take me as seriously. Do you know anything about it, or how competitive it is to get in as a food science major? I’ve also heard from several cornellians that its one of the coolest majors!

^meant as a response to post #262, awkward that the quote didn’t show up

guys… two weeks. two freaking weeks.

Oh boy. Do they usually have their decisions pretty much set by December 1st?

Hi! I got sent a letter in an email from cornell stating that my acceptance was very likely! Applied EA for Biological Sciences at CALS!

@sunshine777 wow! Congratulations!! I am so anxious right now about my result…do you mind sharing what the email said?

No of course not!:

I am writing to let you know that the selection committee has completed its review of your application for admission to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. Although Cornell will not officially notify Early Decision applicants of their decision until mid-December, it may help you with your planning to know that you will very likely be admitted to Cornell University. It is quite out of the ordinary for us to mail a letter such as this to an Agriculture and Life Sciences applicant; however, we have decided to send this letter to a small number of recruited athletes.

I am coming over from England, so have been so confused by the whole process! I think they sent it to me because of the whole recruitment situation! (field hockey)

@presidentsaad :- in the mail, what all did they ask u to submit and by when?

That’s awesome, sunshine! I’m sure you’re right about the field hockey thing–makes me wish I did a sport instead of debate (not really :D)
Hope to see you there, then!

Congrats sunshine! I hope to meet you next year!

@Lifesfun

Congrats Sunshine! I’m a little jealous, hahaha
Enjoy next year, hope we all get to be there with you!

Congratulations Sunshine! That must be such a relief! Good luck in your endeavors! Hopefully we are all there with you next year!
