For the people applying CAS…anyone have crazy SAT scores? I have a 2290…(780 Reading, 710 Math, 800 Writing)…is this considered above average?

OMG ur scores are really impressive!

how long does it take to receive a cornell id?

^pingpongman
3 days in my case

I got my Cornell App ID two days after I submitted the Common app

Mine took two days, and another day to get all of my items checked on my checklist including the app fee.

Wow Newberrytiger, nice drawings! I could never draw that well haha

Submitted everything at 11:58 P.M. on Thursday! I know I probably won’t get in. 3.73 GPA UW, 1550/2300 SAT (750W/760CR/790M). 790 on Math II, 720 on Bio (yikes!)
Good luck everyone!
When should we expect to get our results by? Sometime in early to mid December?
I’m thinking it might be later this year because of the extended deadline.

i submitted my application over a week ago and i still havent gotten a cornell id

Thanks Yellowdog! Just takes a lot of practice :P

tofutime, really like your username! I’m hoping you’ll do fine  You’ve got much better stats than me, anyway. I think the results will be in between the 8th-15th ish according to what everyone’s been saying

It was only a year ago when my younger daughter applied ED to Cornell. It was exciting and nerve wrecking. I can very much relate to how most of you are feeling. Because it was our second time around, we were much better at managing her expectation.

We went through a horrible experience with our older one. She thought she was a shoo-in for her ED school, she wasn’t mentally prepared to go to any other school. She didn’t work on other RD applications much in Nov. When she was deferred in Dec, she had to scramble to apply to 10+ RD schools. She wrote most of those essays in a very depressed state, and they were not her best work.

While you guys are all excited about Cornell, try not to think about it until Dec. Use the next 30 days to work on your RD schools’ essays, and keep up your senior year grades. Our younger daughter did that. She submitted 2 more EA applications and she had 80% of her RD applications done before Cornell’s ED result. She had the pleasure of withdrawing her EA applications and not having to finish remainder of her RD applications, and I saved over $1000.

Last year’s result came out on Dec 8th (a day to remember for us). I want to wish all of you best luck.

Just submitted my application to CAS and its out of my hands now. I’m probably just going to go on with my everyday life, and try not to think about it too much. Good luck to everyone.

For people applying to CAS - how long are your essays? Mine is 380 and I’m not sure if I should be worried about it being too short…

My essay was 472 words and I thought it was a good length. But I see people saying there essays were 900 words and so I’m a little nervous but I felt if you essay was short and good then its alright

Sent from my DROID3 using CC

I hate looking at these forums because they scare me XD all these qualified applicants applying ED, gosh I hope I stand a chance

GPA: 3.7
SAT: 2180
Class Rank: Doesn’t rank
School type: Specialized High School in NYC
Applying to ILR

anyone know if the “midnight monday” deadline mean 11:59 tonight as in 11/4 or tomorrow night as in 11:59 11/5???

They mean 11:59 PM on November 5th

I’m applied ED too, with a major in food science. The only thing I’m worried about is my 1950 SAT. I’m hoping that, as I attend a military academy, I can stand out.

THANK YOU SO MUCH Peppino!! :D

Should we send in our first term grades? My first term ends tomorrow and all my grades are really good except one, AP Macro, because my teacher pretty much had one grade this quarter and it was a really hard test. If i sent in my grades would they overlook this? I have around 98-100 in all the other classes unweighted but like an 85 in the economics class…
