My other recommender mailed her letter from New York City last Thursday or Friday. Do you think it’ll have arrived at Cornell by the end of this week? I’d rather not bother the admissions officers with questions when they’re so busy, lest they become irritated with me.

got my applicant id! applied at like 8pm on 11/8.

so we have to send in our first quarters? shoot… i wonder how much that’s going to affect our app… mine weren’t the best

No, I don’t think it’s necessary.

Personally I’m not going to send my quarter grades unless specifically asked for them. I usually don’t bring all my grades up to A’s until second quarter, so mine aren’t the best at the moment either x)

Yea, that 13-14 minutes would be further cut because they state they spend the first weeks consolidating everything and sorting applications out. I feel as though they will be able to get a decently clear picture of someone from those minutes considering experience. Well, I hope. Anyways, has anyone gotten an interview request yet? I applied to CoE and submitted my app around November 7th and just got an applicant ID yesterday.

OMG guys, we will learn if we are a Cornellian or not in less than a month!

I got called for an alumni interview the other day! She said these are very informal though. I wonder how much of an affect they have on admissions.

I still haven’t gotten my app ID and I applied the 7th after midnight, so technically the 8th… Anyone else have this problem? And by when should we have it?

To all the students from India here,
Can you post your SAT scores and other stats?
I know they are not sole determinants, but still I wanna compare (Paint me Indian)

So here:

SAT 1: 2250 (800 Reading, 740 Maths, 710 Writing)
SAT 2: Scores not out yet

Yes, Calculusfan, I also haven’t received an ID although I applied on the 7th. I think it might depend on the college, though, becuase each of them has a separate admission process. Is anyone here applying to ILR?

“I would like to arrange a meeting to discuss your application to Cornell. Please let me know of you have time this weekend.”

Hey, I want one of those too!
But at least ID received

Finally recieved my AppID. However, I have the same problem of unspecified major and college as mentioned by some people above. Anyone with any idea how to solve it?

does every applicant get an alum interview?
or is it for applicants who have a possibility of getting in…?

@collegestress I believe it depends merely on your area and where you are from. They try to hook everyone up who applied with an alum interviewer. It doesn’t mean much if you don’t get an interview request. There are kids have minimal chance and still get interviewed and vice versa.

CAS applicants are not offered interviews, only informal alumni meetings. Beyond that, it depends on where you live.

@Greyhalo I have that same problem. But from what I hear, it should update itself within a few days

I messed up big time, guys. I sent in my application weeks ago and totally forgot to do the financial aid information. What should I do?

Cornell has received my package like a week ago. However, there still no green checks on my application status. So should I wait another few days, or send an e-mail right away?

I was assigned an alumna who emailed me to get together for a “meeting,” to “highlight anything I want the admissions officers to know.” Doesn’t that sound like an evaluation will be written about me? I applied to CAS and did not expect this… not too worrisome but surprising nonetheless

Hey, VarsitySwim, if you haven’t submitted the FAFSA/CSS profile yet I don’t think it’s too late to do so! Sending FA stuff in late won’t affect your chances of acceptance, but it may reduce the amount of aid you get, or when you receive your aid package. The deadline was only five days ago so I think you should be fine, just fill it out and get it in quickly! :)
