If they are not sure about you, there are still many other ways in which your decision may be evaluated, so don’t worry. They clearly don’t require senior grades because each school may have a different system and schedule of processing them.

It always worried me though because in my school we don’t even have GPA. What we get is a narrative transcript. It will either disqualify me right away or be a hook, and I wonder which one.

Well I do remember my parents getting an email from the school (generic, sent to everyone) that if a school requires first quarter grades, then the student has to go ask for them, and send them themselves (all on us, right…). I’m fine with sending my grades since they’re good, but I don’t know what to do

@cicit, I thought it was weird when I came But it’s actually so much more adequate than some numbers. Teachers write narrative reports about you. It’s possible because classes are small, and we literally live together in a close-knit boarding school. It’s not any easier at all because they are brutally honest and all we take is APs. I love it.

I think sending grades is your counselor’s job, and he/she is the only person can do that. I don’t think you can summit your grades by yourself.

Wow that’s so cool. I also go to a boarding school which emphasizes on community a lot, and we are living together, but we still get grades, a little bit old school haha.

So basically every teacher gives you recommendation?

@cicit123 I know right? That email quite irritated me

@ola1szeptem I think the narrative transcript is more of a hook then! Your school seems pretty tough, but if you did well in class, it can’t be too bad

Right, my transcript is basically a set of teacher recommendations, though they still had to write different ones for common app. The school does happen to be tough because it runs on saturdays too, and we also have to do lots of ECs and community service. Like in yours, cicit, there’s a really strong emphasis on community in all crazy ways like long hikes with no electricity whatsoever. Or ski days and singing assemblies. Pretty cool. It’s not in the US, how about yours?

Bubbles, I did really well in all of my classes, but goddamnit not as well on the tests themselves! Man, the 16th’d better come quick.

Soo, the financial aid app was due nov 8… I just found out my (noncustodial) dad never sent in his taxes. I keep bugging him about it but is it too late? Will I not get a FA package with my decision? D:

Do you guys know how to apply for SAT testing accommodations?

Some of my friends in my school recently took the SAT for six hours, and they claimed that they have learning difficulty, even some top students in my class did that, who are clearly have zero learning difficulty.

Just wondering have you guys done or heard about this? Taking it six hours will be a huge boost.

I just found out that the same thing happened to me, so I won’t have my financial aid at the time of decision. I can still apply to financial aid with the other applicants though, right?

regarding the financial aid thing, don’t worry. was in the same situation. called them and they said just submit them as soon as possible. it won’t matter in your admission decision. it won’t be count as late

Cicit123, I never heard of someone who did it for SATs but one my friends is trying to get a document from a doctor to prove her concentratıon problem so she will get 1 hour extra time for her IB finals.

I just sent Cornell an email. I failed to submit the financial aid report that was due at Nov. 8. As long as I submit the report that is due in February I would still be eligible for financial aid right?
