Official Cornell RD Class of 2018

@nirvana1995 read the message i sent you

is it possible for a regular asian male to get a likely letter from the CoE? BTW, I would appreciate it if you guys can chance me for the colleges that i have applied to here: <a href=“Please chance me... I have an interesting case - #11 by MYOS1634 - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>Please chance me... Technically anyone can get a likely letter from CoE. Same applies for schools that do the official Likely Letter system (not talking about schools like Duke and Rice and Vanderbilt that also have early acceptances to distinct groups). And I don’t think that chance threads will be very helpful for the really really good schools on your list because of how unpredictable everything is.

All I know is that if there is a likely letter to be received, it would be arriving at your doorstep around the 10th of March.

Now that it’s March everything is starting to hit home… I can’t believe we only have a few weeks left! I have my school’s senior trip the weekend before D-day and I think I’ll spend the whole trip just FREAKING OUT. I wish I didn’t have sequences and series to learn in calc all month or I’d probably hibernate to make it pass more quickly:)

@APushed96 I thought likely letters for Cornell are sent via e-mail.

@agg999 Or email for that matter. Ugh, I don’t think I will get in. I really would love to go there. My GPA isn’t the best, and I am really depending upon my ECs. For the supplement, I just wrote the essay on a specific product I had in mind, and how I would go about making it. :-(

@rosie4116 I think that is bad planning! :o

@APushed96 same here - I am really depending on my awards. can you please chance me here (thanks!): <a href=“Please chance me...
So incredibly anxious… I haven’t been able to sleep for the past few nights, all I’ve been thinking about is college admissions. I know it’s really bad but I can’t figure out how not to.

@mistanervous
Don’t worry man, we are all in the same shoes as you (atleast I am anyways). What really freaks me out is that technically any day this month could be a day where my applications gets the go or the no-go. Every day is a day that that possibility of my application being evaluation exists and thats just scary. But hey, nothing we can do about it! Try watching a lot of TV. Works for me ;)

@mistanervous I have the love of God with me and he is by my side always, if it doesn’t work it then it just doesn’t. I’ll end up doing great things no matter what :P

@Girlygirl22 I know that I will end up with a good career in the end either way, it’s more of me simply falling in love with the school from the first moment I walked on campus. Everything about the school seems to amazing to me, so my fear and anxiety is less about not being able to go far without Cornell and more about not being a part of this place that I really want to be a part of.

@agg999 Sigh, I know you want me to chance you, but I really hate playing that game. I know it is difficult. All I can say is that you are a competitive applicant and you seem to show your interest in chess. I think that trying to find comfort from reassurance from a random person online isn’t going to do much good, or for all I know be much accurate. I know this may not be you, but what it does is that it sets a preconceived notion that you will get in or you won’t. And that may amplify your emotions of your decision letter. I don’t want you to feel extremely sad in the long run.

Less than a month left.

@matrixsurgeon yes, I play USCF rated chess.

@APushed96 I totally understand what you mean. BTW, i just mentioned chess once in my post lol. I am interested in chess but also showed passion for other things (hopefully you realized them). This is what I want to hear from others. I want to know what stands out the most in my application, not necessarily chancing me. I guess that is because all the people that I received input from were people who knew me well. I want to know what a stranger thinks when he/she reads my credentials. Hope you understand.

@matrixsurgeon: What I am exactly thinking is captured right here –> http://www.livememe.com/b9fevfl</a></p>

“I have no strong feelings one way or another. All I know is my gut says maybe.” - Neutral President from Futurama
That is what I am thinking.

@agreatperhaps13 Futurama is a great show. I should start that soon. Though I must say, I am a huge South Park fan!

BTW, where are you guys from? I am from NorCal!

@apushed96 You definitely should! I’m from SoCal!

Tennessee. Ready to get out
