cogra stanmaster22.....

hope to see you there

so can you find out online? or what's the deal...waiting to hear from ILR blah

do out of state applicants have a lesser chance of getting accepted to the state schools

AHHHHHHHHHH!!! I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYYYYYYY!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Guys, stop compulsively checking the website and start standing by the mailbox! My letter came in the mail. It says that my application has been "approved". Not sure what that means but the next paragraph says "You will soon receive the University acceptance letter."!! :D :D

Anyways, I think that once they decide to accept you, they send out a letter from the admissions office of whatever school you applied to (in my case, CALS) and then they notify the Cornell umbrella admissions office, where the University acceptance letter is sent out along with the update of your website. btw, my website still doesn't say anything about admissions decision.

:D YAY CORNELL!! :D

GO BIG RED!!

congradulations jenz, is cornell your first choice?

Yayyy congrats jenz129!! :) Hope to see you next year!

Out of the schools that I have a realistic chance at getting into, Cornell is my first choice. I'm really really excited. I will go unless I get into H/Y/MIT/Brown/Columbia (very unlikely), in which case I will have to freak out some more and compare financial aid packages and do some more college visits.

Are you guys going to be at Cornell Days? I already did an overnight at Cornell so I've got a good sense of residential life (the food is amazing!!) but I really want to attend the info sessions. However, I live 5-6 hours away from Cornell and I don't know if my parents would be willing to drive that far to revisit a school.

Also, have you EDers gotten financial aid packages yet? How are they? I'm a bit nervous that b/c CALS already has a discount for NYers (~$25000 instead of $40000), I'm not going to get any financial aid. However, $20000 is still A LOT for my parents to pay.

And to everyone still in the waiting room, hang in there!! You'll get your letters soon (and I'm sure they'll all be acceptances!)!!

Are all of the Rolling acceptees thus far from NY?

My dad thinks that Cornell will fill their slots with the necessary NY residents first and then see where the out-of-state kids fit, if they do. I'm from Massachusetts.

Congrads, Jen! Is there a website about Cornell Days? If I do get in you can bet I'll be going there to check it out and do an overnight. I've already been once but my parents and I stayed off-campus.

-WJJ

I'm an EDer and i'm going to Cornell Days, it will be a lot of fun, you should come jenz and if your parents can't drive you, you can always drive up yourself or take a train, or if anyone else from you school gets into cornell hitch a ride with them

I'm an ED-er and I'll also be attending Cornell Days. Any excuse to visit the campus again! :) I was satisfied with my financial aid, but they will give you $10,000 in loans per year before you'll get any kind of grant. (Just as a head's up!)

No Cornell letter in the mail for me, no site updates, no nothing.

I'm getting rejected :)!

Financial aid sucked. I guess CALS is $29500 next year (including room, board, expenses). I'll be at Cornell days though, but I am going up tonight for the Cornell vs. Penn bball game with a friend who got into Penn ED. I am going up next weekend too to see Jon Stewart.

Cornell didn't give me alot in loans! It pays to be poor! :). I have a 0 - 500$ family contribution. Cornell ended up giving me about 3000 ish in loans. Lots of GRANTS! :). Juicy :)

^ soooooooo lucky

my parents have to pay every cent... some 42Kish... if i have to pay them back, yeah, life would suck

got into CALS :-D.

Congrats!! But I'm guessing by your username you'll be waiting to hear from some other Ivies before you make your choice??

thats true, i'm waiting for another dozen decisions

i'm happy i got in to at least one so far because i don't have any safeties

i am waiting too! i applied to the hotel school.

Welcome, intherr!! Go Hotel School!!!! :)

heh, I've got a funny story:

I just got home from a long vacation and am thinking "hmm... I'll check my snail mail; chances are there's nothing from Cornell, but whatever." So, I walk to the door, look out my window, and there's this huge Red Envelope in my mailbox (actually it's a basket, lol). So I'm freaking out because it's my acceptance letter,right?... wrong, it's a big red propoganda envelope from St. John's University, lol. Darn it!!
