Waitlist Decisions

hey hey hey! who's anxious to hear about Yale's waitlist?
whether they get to it or not? how many they are taking off? who's gotten THE phone call/letter/email??

anything and EVERYTHING about being waitlisted at Yale!

drop a note here. =)

I'm waiting on the waitlist too. I doubt anyone's gotten taken off so soon, considering it's only the 3rd.

well. things are in motion right?
so as soon as anyone hears anything, this is the place to come.
i just wish no one phones yale and drops the bomb that "yale's not going to their waitlist this year". that would be tragic.

yales not going to the waitlist this year.

HAHA JUST KIDDING wow i'm really funny. im waiting too.

there seems to be hope for waitlistees, since the "admitted students facebook" (not facebook.com, but the actual yale students facebook) has dropped in membership to 1,081, and weren't they shooting for a class size of 1200? i could be wrong.

I don't know when they'll start making waitlist decisions, but apparently Harvard still hasn't started. I decided not to mail Harvard its waitlist reply card and save myself $0.8 of postage cost, and today I got an email from them telling me that I still have until May 7 (monday) to stay on the list if I reply by email...

For those interested, Cornell already started calling people from their waitlist.. Good luck to all those of you still waiting!!

REALLY?
awwnn. i probably didn't get in cornell then. =(
"1,081" registered?? that sounds really understanded. good chances!

Daughter waiting on Yale, too.....also on Cornell's waitlist but she'll not accept it if they do call her.

Cornell is a great school.. beautiful campus. My son started there two years ago after not getting into Yale. Loves it there...... Too far for my daughter's liking. She is waiting for Yale waitlist!

Sorry, naive question following...

If reply cards are due May 1---from what I hear, I'm a junior----how does the waiting list work? Do you send multiple reply cards and deposits?

my interpretation was that the 1081 refers to those that've signed in to use the admits site...i'm sure there's people who are matriculating who never bothered to go on admits.yale.edu (and don't know what they're missing out on... :P)
not to discourage those waitlisted, though. my hosts at bulldog days were saying that the yield would possibly be down this year due to the sucky weather at bulldog days (thus driving some of the indecisive people away)...so if anything, more possibility of going to the waitlist?

My friend got a call saying that it is likely that he will be admitted off the waitlist. Sounds pretty strange to me. Speculate all you want.

A call from who? Yale? His counselor? Who told him this?

yeah who told him that?
and has anyone heard any news at all yet

yeah I don't want to discourage any of the waitlistees, but I'm fairly certain that ar89 is right about the meaning of 1081

My S sent his decline card to Yale May 1st. His admission counselor called today, stating they had not rec'd his card and they wanted a tally so they could decide on waitlist status for others. Seems to be a bit of a rush to me, considering that was 4 mail days ago and we're in the middle of the country (what about west of here?), but hey, could be good news for the waitlistees!

someone on the facebook group said Yale went to their waitlist and accepted people yesterday. can anyone confirm that?

I got in off the waitlist 3 hours ago!!!!! ahhhh!!! I'm SOO excited and thrilled! I cried:-) My admissions officer called me during Mother's Day dinner..what a great gift for my parents. woohoo!

ME TOO! I was eating at IHOP and got a call at 6:00 on my cell phone!
