@eyethink @chasethecarrot You can train to be a certified bartender from the time you’re 18, though due to specific state laws, you can’t legally serve/prepare drinks until you’re 21. In California, you HAVE to be 21 to serve alcohol (though if you work in a restaurant and are a server, carrying alcohol to a table is part of your duty as a server, therefore making it the only exception). But I figured, hey, I’m moving to Arizona (19), Massachusetts (18) or New York (18/19), where I’m of age to serve (woohoo!). Plus, it’ll make me look like a freakin’ shining star compared to other hotelie applicants because how many of them (my age) can say they’re TIPS certified and certified to bartend?

And no…I wasn’t drinking, hahaha. Although you have to consider the fact that I posted that at around 2am my time, so the combination of lack of sleep alongside my sidetracked mind (which was on calculus), could possibly induce a sense of inebriation… hehehe. But, I digress. There’s your fun fact for the day, you guys. So if you ever want to bartend, go take the course! And move to a state that allows you to bartend if you’re underage in your home state (which I am!). (:

about this whole housing application log in thing…

does anyone else think its not the greatest idea to poke around cornell admissions while your application is still pending? im sure cornell is aware of this loophole by now…

Hey everyone. I’ve just recently begun looking over this thread, but I have a couple of questions.

1.) My application just went under review today. A high school transcript was lost and they just found it yesterday. I applied to CAS - Political Science. Do you know how long it takes to get an admissions decision?

2.) Are decisions mailed or do you get an e-mail? And, will the decision be reflected on the website?

^ if you see previous posts, you could tell that:
selected ILR applicants were notified by phone, and some were notified by e-mail;

2) CALS, CAS, and HE gave out decision as well, as far as this post suggests, CALS by e-mail, HE by mail; just not too many at the moment perhaps.

That said, there’s no way to find out whether AAP, Hotel, or engineering gave out the decision, based on this thread, which is frustrating…

Hey everybody. I have been following this thread for several months, but haven’t contributed anything yet. l’m applying to CALS AEM. Last year’s thread indicates that exactly one year ago, many CALS applicants were notified by email? What’s the probability of hearing back sometime this week? Also: does anyone know if we can declare a double major once arriving at Cornell? I’m wanting to double in AEM and Communications.

So finally, after some extra work done because my school messed up my transcript records, my application was finally reviewed like two days ago. Does anybody knows how long it would take them to review an application? or at least how long it would take for them to give me an update or something. It will also be helpful if anybody knows what happens during the “Review” period? Do they give my application to the college that I apply to and how will they tell you the results if ever?
