Teacher Recommendation: From my all-time favorite teachers: the advisor of my academy/ ex-AP Biology teacher, and an AMAZING one from my cross-country coach/ club sponsor/ ex-AP English Language teacher that summed up everything I’ve ever done.
Counselor Rec: Really strong, it was from my ex-AP Environmental teacher/ sponsor of the community service club that I’m president of.
Peer Review- from the most amazing writer/friend/human being I’ve ever met.
Interview: My interviewer really liked me. I was a bit nervous when we spoke over the phone so the first thing he said when I walked into his office was “Don’t worry it shouldn’t last more than 30-40 minutes.” It lasted an hour an a half. I’m really sociable so he had to slow me down a bit because I just spoke and spoke.

Other
State: From Miami, they don’t get a lot of South Floridians
Country: I was born in Colombia and lived there for 10 years
School Type: A public school, best in the area
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: Lower class
Hooks: Hispanic, Native American, first generation to go to college, lower income student

Reflection
Strengths: I guess all of my letters of recommendation were VERY STRONG, including the alumni interview report, peer rec, the 2 teacher recs, and the counselor rec. I also have very unusual extracurriculars that I’m very dedicated to, very strong community service experience, a lot of awards and recognition, and AWESOME essays. Also, my SAT Subject Test score for Biology and my AP scores.
Weaknesses: ACT testing, class rank, and GPA
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I’m a very strong candidate when you don’t count GPA and ACT scores, which is a really dumb comment, but it’s true. Everything else in my app was really strong.
General Comments: Dartmouth is still my top choice!

[] Weaknesses: sat scores definitely.
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think probably mostly my low SAT scores/less-than-amazing extra-curriculars.[/li]General Comments: I don’t feel too bad, since a lot of people with better scores (and better resumes overall!) got flat-out rejected. I feel lucky to have even been deferred.
