Official Dec 2012 MATH thread

Dammit man…so frustrating…the ACT is the pinnacle of inaccuracy when representing a candidate for college…I hope colleges understand the magnitude of this. I believe we all are capable of a 36 without timing…the pressure is the killer…you try to skip words while reading a problem and you misunderstand what the problem is asking…

Gosh. I screwed up on some really easy questions. I’m a fricking idiot for not plugging in the equation for the elipse into my graphing calculator.

Anyone recall answers for the easy questions?

I’m going to get the shock of my life when I see: composite score “20”. I can’t recall the answers for any of the easiest questions…because I got them all wrong.

I really don’t remember too many of the questions. I just hope I got at least a 50/60, I’m very uncertain though.

a (50/60)(36) is a 30…Why the hell does ACT curve all the tests down so damn much? I guess they need to preserve the prestige of a “36”…

Does anyone remember the letter of the answer for the reflection of the parabola over the y axis?

50/60 does not always equal a 30. I’ve seen many tests were 52=30.

Yeah! I was so unsure about that problem…it said over the “y” axis and that mean a flip right or left. The only answer that sort of matched was the bottom right or “D” I think…I am correct?

It was between D and E, don’t remember

The letter was the last one. Or the second column second one (last one) down. Instead of having the bigger part on one side it was just flipped to the other side vertically.

If I got a 30 on this section, I would be so ridiculously happy. I really hope it doesn’t pull my score down too much. I definitely could’ve gotten some of the last few if I had had more time.

So I guess E or J

Everyone calm down…we’ll find out in a few weeks how we did. There is no need to stress. If you got a 29+ on this section and 33+ on the others, you’ll still have at least a 32.

The image and letter of the answer you are describing don’t match. The smaller part was shifted to the other side of the axis…I’m pretty sure that was “D”

Now that I think about it, I think I picked E for the parabola

Pretty sure E is right. I don’t remember the exact letter. If each letter is a picture it would be the O

X X
X O
X

So one for me

Yes it was O, and that corresponds to D right? I dunno…

If that made any sense to you lol

@thirrdplanet That’s what I picked.
